Artist Roman De Giuli created this abstract interpretation of the skies and heavens not by pointing his camera upwards, but down at wet pieces of paper where he manipulated watercolors, inks, and acrylic paints. The darker colors with the sparkles really do look like space.

After making a tiny McDonald’s using real-world construction materials, Ouroboros ARQ has moved on to another fast-food chain. This time, they created a mini KFC, using real bricks, concrete, wood, and even an astroturf lawn. Their construction skills are spot-on, but their paint-masking game could use a bit of work.

Artist Cao Shengge created this amazing sculpture inspired by Eren Yaeger’s monstrous Attack Titan form in Attack on Titan. He built the creation by wrapping sections of car and bike tires onto a metal structure, then painted the interleaved rubber to look like the Titan’s exposed muscles.

Artist DP Truong shows off another one of their unconventional portrait techniques, this time creating an image using torn-up scraps of paper. The portrait pays tribute to the late Vietnamese actor Hoang Dung. Blowing away the scraps at the end serves as a sort of cinematic goodbye.

In this video from Odd Tinkering, they took a rusty old tabletop fan and make it look as good as new. The process involved multiple stages, most notably the use of a laser cleaning machine from W2M, which burns away rust and paint without damaging the underlying metal, along with electrolysis to pull away rust from the fan’s cage.

But this is exactly the kind of challenge that an expert restorer like Great Idea lives for. After carefully removing the rust, re-plating, galvanizing, and painting parts, the bike looks as good as new.

Working with styrofoam can be pretty tricky, especially the way that it tends to break. But that doesn’t stop artist Vinayak R, who makes detailed architectural structures out of the material. He uses hot-wire cutting, hand carving, and sanding to create the pieces for his models. He then spray paints them to bring out the details.

Part of the mystique of artist Banksy is that you don’t always know which pieces of art were really made by him. In this video, he reveals that he’s the one behind an image painted on the wall of a UK prison.
