Shmoxd shows us how to make recycled paper using readily available materials. He then adds texture and color to the new paper by adding different bits like plants, food and even shredded electronics. But will it blend?

Woodworker Matt Jordan shares an immensely satisfying woodturning video, in which he transforms a lumpy hunk of apple tree trunk into a beautiful work of functional art – though the final piece wasn’t exactly what he planned to make. The fillers are a mix of blue mica dust and ground coffee.

Another retro keyboard from the makers of the Rymek has a design inspired by classic typewriters, with an art deco body, glossy finishes, and round keycaps. It also packs in a pair of JBL speakers, and has a built-in stand for holding a tablet. It’s still in the pre-pre-order stage, so we’re not sure when it will be available to purchase.

We just want to bottle up and drink the warm and dreamy visuals in filmmaker Hwang ji – lee’s animated short film. We can think of no greater application of the phrase “every frame a painting” than to this beautiful and captivating clip of otherwise mundane subject matter.

OSO DIY created this stunning coffee table using baltic birch plywood for its construction. But rather than attempt to hide the layers of the wood, he built it to show off its endgrain in a beautiful herringbone pattern. We really love the way the grain looks on the edges and the legs.

As a tribute to the 50th anniversary of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing, LEGO created a life-size model of one of the mission’s astronauts using about 30,000 bricks. We love the helmet reflection detail on the 6’3″ tall sculpture. The model will be on display from 7/18-7/20/19 on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

On first glance, this table just looks like a stack of plywood sitting on some cubbies. But Chris Salomone’s clever build conceals a big secret – it’s hollow and has lots of storage space inside. It was built using just two sheets of ply.

David Damek of Plasmo shows off an impressive (and depressing) build – an incredibly detailed 1/72-scale diorama of an abandoned house inspired by the scenes of devastation around Pripyat, Ukraine after the Chernobyl disaster. The tractor is based on a kit, but David’s artistry really elevates it.

Nemeio’s wireless keyboard has an E-Ink screen beneath its 81 keys. Designed to work with Mac, you can change the icons which appear on each key to display shortcuts, special characters, and more. It has front lighting for work in darkened rooms and light or dark mode for its keys. It’s expected to launch later in 2019.

If you’re really dedicated, you can create a copper penny floor by carefully arranging tons of individual coins. Or you could head over to Penny Tiles‘ Etsy shop and purchase some of their pre-fabricated tiles to expedite the process. They only come in British 1p coins though.

Bobby Duke takes a moment away from playing with his wewd, and turns his attention to his balls. It took some work, but with the help of his rotary carving tool, he managed to carve a skull from a billiard ball, made from sturdy phenolic resin.

Photographer Roman De Giuli is an expert at shooting macro images of colorful fluids for artistic effect. Most of his clips feature multiple shots, but this one is simply a 3-minute video of a single fluid, working all on its own to create visual magic. We know you don’t have an 8K display, so just watch at the highest resolution you can.

Artist Steven Richter reminds us of the recyclability of unbaked clay by tearing down a clay mold of the Night King from Game of Thrones, then reusing the material to create an amazing sculpture of Harvey Dent/Two-Faced as he appeared in The Dark Knight. You can find some of Richter’s works for sale in his Etsy shop.

The Q has built some pretty nifty mechanical contraptions from cardboard, and here’s another. Watch as he turns a mix of cardbaord, paper, rubber bands, springs, and popsicle sticks into a working model of a 7-segment numeric display, like you might find on alarm clock.

New Zealand filmmaker Phil Brough’s wonderful animated short tells the story of a fire brigade who attempts to save their city from a fire, but are frustrated by the fact that everything around them is made of cardboard – and apparently filled with gasoline.
