The guys at Irfon Automation decided to see just how precise their Stäubli TX40 industrial robot was, so they attached a straight blade knife to it, and programmed the robot to play a game of five-finger fillet on an all-too-trusting human. Then they increased the speed.

Ben Ketola shows off his extraordinary ability to knock all 10 pins over not just once, but 12 times in a row, scoring a perfect 300 game in just 86.9 seconds. It doesn’t hurt that he had access to ten lanes to accomplish the feat, so he never had to wait for the pins to reset.

Based on a similar, but simpler design to their airless car tire concept, Bridgestone is showing off a bike wheel and tire combo which use a series of flexible thermoplastic spokes to absorb shocks and can never go flat. They hope to put them into production by 2019.

For Inventables’ fidget spinner challenge, Giaco Whatever decided to see if he could make one that could float in mid air. After a bunch of experimentation, he was able to get it to work by placing it between two opposing magnetic fields, and spinning it for stabilization.

Illustrator Victoria Vincent’s frenetic animated short follows the life of a cat who escapes home to live among humans, and learns the hard way that he might have been better off remaining someone’s pet.
