Beyond Black Mesa is an indie film inspired by the Half-Life series of video games. If the trailer is any indication, director Brian Curtin and crew made good use of their paltry $1200 budget.

As Star Wars fan flicks go, Fed Wetherbee & PJ Tamayo’s film is one of the more sublime efforts we’ve seen, steering clear of over-the-top effects, instead focusing on character, dialogue and plot.
Steven Sterlacchini’s fan film tells the tale of a minor character from Judge Dredd. As his name implies, Minty is no bad ass, and is outcast because “he has become too compassionate.”
Remember the Star Wars: Uncut project we told you about? It turns out the fan flick, compiled from 472 15-second user-submitted clips is finally complete, and you can view the entire 2-hour plus movie now.
Yeah, yeah, grown-ups shouldn’t play with dolls, but we have to say Sillof’s tribute to A New Hope – shot entirely with his custom-made action figures – is too fun to pass up. Part 2 comes out 7/5.
