Designed for use by snow resorts, this unique electric vehicle from Austria is basically the winter equivalent of a go kart. With its lower operating speeds and low center of gravity, it’s more beginner-friendly than a snowmobile, and looks like a fun way to spend some time when you’re not hitting the slopes.

Tesla’s Cybertruck might be getting most of the attention, but well-funded startup Rivian is working on an electric pickup that actually looks like a truck. Its R1T and R1S have offer a neat party trick – the ability to turn on a dime by independently controlling its four motors. It only works on loose terrain, but it’s still awesome.

Ford aims its new EV head-on at Tesla with a Mustang-inspired crossover packing the latest tech. Available with RWD or AWD, and a drive range up to 300 miles, typical AWD models will make up to 332 hp and 417 lb-ft. of torque, while the performance GT model is targeting 459 hp and 612 lb-ft. of torque. A $500 deposit reserves a vehicle now.

Ford and Webasto turned up at the 2019 SEMA Show with a car that teases the automaker’s electric future. It looks much like any well-equipped pony car, the Mustang Lithium an 800-volt battery pack and a motor that generates 900+ hp and 1000+ lb-ft. of torque. In an unexpected twist, it has a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Toyota went back to the drawing board with its hydrogen-electric sedan, turning a frog into a prince in the process. The stylish new car will move from FWD to RWD, riding on the same platform as the Lexus LS, enhancing its overall performance, and targeting 30% more range. Now if only the hydrogen infrastructure would catch up.

The What’s Inside? channel presents one of its more costly videos, as they rip apart open one of the powerful drive motors from a Tesla Model S to see all of the gears, goo, and other goodies inside. This particular rear motor dates back to 2012, and was purchased off of eBay.

Porsche has been teasing its pure-electric, all-wheel drive sports sedan for a while. The production car – and its impressive specs and tech have been revealed. The first two models are the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S, with 670hp and 750hp, and 0-to-60 times of 3.0 and 2.6 secs, respectively. Inside the cars, you’ll find screens, lots of screens.

British sportscar maker Lotus is showing off an upcoming pure-electric hypercar that makes an astounding 1972 horsepower and 1250 lb-ft of torque. Through the use of lightweight materials and sleek aerodynamics, it can hit speeds over 200 mph, and its battery pack allows for a range of 250 miles at more normal speeds.

Builder Colin Furze previously made a pulsejet-powered drift trike. While it was fast, it wasn’t exactly environmentally-friendly. So he decided to build himself a fully-electric version, with an insane 20,000 watt power source. We’re glad he finally put a helmet on when he hit the road circuit. Build video here.

A new variant of the MINI Cooper that runs purely on electric power. Its front-wheel motor cranks out 181 hp, and its battery offers a range of roughly 124 miles. Like other MINIs, expect go kart-like handling, possibly even more so thanks to the battery pack’s low center of gravity. We rather dig the funky new wheel design too.

Toyota and The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have teamed up to study mobility in space, with a fuel cell electric vehicle which could be used for human exploration on the moon. Despite energy transport limitations, its could cover 10,000 km in its lifetime.

We prefer the boxier Honda Urban EV Concept, but its near-production version still packs a lot of charm. The e Prototype now has four doors, and retains its massive digital dash. It will have a range of nearly 125mi and charge to 80% in 30min. Production will begin in 2019.

A stunning, pure electric car from Volvo’s performance spin-off, the Polestar 2 is a 5-door fastback with dual motors, making 408hp, 487 lb-ft. of torque, going 0-to-62mph in under 5 sec., and a target range up to 275 mi. The 2020 launch edition runs $63K, minus tax breaks.

French automaker Citroën presents its concept for a subcompact car, designed to improve urban mobility. The tiny all-electric car is designed to be rented for any length of time, and uses your docked smartphone to power its navigation and media system.

Automotive madman Jimmy Built managed to cram the drive unit from a Tesla Model S and the battery pack from a Chevy Volt into an old Honda Accord. The result is a crazy lightweight car that can do 0-to-60 in about 2.7 sec, and sounds like a remote-controlled toy doing it.

Bollinger’s upcoming B2 truck shares many of the features of the B1 SUV, such as all-wheel drive, 520hp dual motors, hydro-pneumatic suspension, a 120kWh battery pack and more. It also has a patented pass-through door for transporting long items.

The EQC SUV is the first model from Mercedes-Benz’s pure-electric EQ line. The 402 hp AWD vehicle can go up to 279 mi per charge and go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9s, with a top speed of 112 mph. Its 80 kWh battery pack can charge to 80% in 40 min at DC quick charge stations.

Jaguar Classic will offer a custom version of its iconic E-Type roadster which replaces the straight-6 with an electric drivetrain derived from their stellar I-PACE EV. Target range for its 40kWh battery pack is 170 mi, and Jaguar can source and restore a car, or convert yours.

Taiwanese EV maker XING Mobility is showing off a wicked prototype – a 1341 hp compact sports car capable of handling both on-road and off-road terrain. It’s got a four-wheel drive system with torque vectoring to help it corner like a go kart, and is expected to do 0-to-62 in 1.8s.

Jaguar’s first ever pure EV, the AWD I-PACE has dual motors making 394 hp, a 0-to-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds, 240 mi driving range, a lightweight aluminum structure, 50/50 weight balance, active air suspension, a luxe cabin with room for five, and SUV-like cargo space.

BMW’s futuristic hybrid electric car drops its top for its new variant, with a folding roof that maximizes storage space and shows off its flying buttresses. It gets a total of 369 hp, zooms from 0-to-60 in 4.4 seconds, and can drive up to 18 miles (US) on pure electric power.
