Virus Comix outlines the inner turmoil that artists suffer. Like a lot of things worth pursuing, the creative process isn’t a straight road. It isn’t even a long and winding one. It’s a lot of roads with many dead ends.

Randall Munroe continues his experiments with dynamic and time-based comics. His latest piece appears static, but it’s actually a world clock. A web comic world clock. We’d love to have a watch version of this.

Randall Munroe used a grid of animated gifs to illustrate how often certain events, phenomena or actions occur in real time, from mundane things like someone getting a tattoo to someone dying of cancer.

Ty Templeton imagines what Batman would be without the input of writer Bill Finger. For most of his life, artist Bob Kane claimed sole credit for inventing the Dark Knight, but evidence suggests otherwise. 2/8/14 marks Bill’s 100th birthday.

(Gore) Animator Fran Krause’s webcomic about people’s irrational fears and concerns. Some of them are silly and would make your grandparents disown you, but a good number are legitimately frightening in different ways.

A 2-in-1 bundle of Jeffrey Brown’s children’s comic books Darth Vader and Son and Vader’s Little Princess. It comes with two maquettes featuring the titular characters. The Son and Princess sets are also available separately.

While taking a bath, a man discovers a hole in the wall of his bathroom in this creepy comic strip by writer and illustrator Ryan Andrews. So…when did it start? What happened to the rest of the world? And why would you go in a random tunnel?

(NSFW: Language) A comic book about the origins of hip hop by Ed Piskor. Hip Hop Family Tree is presented like the Marvel comics from the 70s for that extra OG flavor. It’s a shame it doesn’t come with a soundtrack. More here.

(Gore) The short comic book Batman: The Deal is an impressive piece of philosophical fan fiction created by Gerardo Preciado and Daniel Bayliss. Once you’ve read it, check out the source of the lines they quoted at the end.

For the 25th anniversary of his legendary comic book series, Neil Gaiman worked with artist J.H. Williams III to make Sandman: Overture, a 6-issue miniseries that reveals the events before the main storyline. More here.

Joel Allen Schroeder’s documentary about the legacy of Calvin & Hobbes will be in theaters soon and is available for pre-order. It doesn’t appear to have Mr. Watterson himself, but that’s to be expected. Also on iTunes.

Home decor site Elite Fixtures edited a few famous comic book covers and replaced characters with lamps. Yeah, we didn’t think it would work either, but for some reason seeing Wolverine get mad at a lamp cracked us up.

A 144-page, full color compilation of Zac Gorman’s Magical Game Time comic strips, from its inception in 2011 to the July 2013 strips. The comic depicts video game characters in hilarious or touching introspective moments.

JL8 is an absolutely enchanting web comic by Yale Stewart. It features the members of the Justice League and other DC characters as 8-year olds and is filled with lighthearted and innocent moments. Browse by issue here.

This gory, action-packed comic aims to explain the origins of evil. We don’t know much yet, but it has something to do with an ex-con who discovers he’s descended from angels. All we know is the art looks amazing.

Allie Brosh has entertained millions of people with her hilarious and achingly sincere web comic. Now she’s working on a book. We’re not sure if it will have 100% new content, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to be awesome.
