Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA directs an action drama heist film set in New Orleans in 2005. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, four childhood friends turn to a local gangster for employment. They are asked to pull a robbery, but the job goes badly. Premieres 2019.

Our latest look at the film adaptation of the cyberpunk manga Battle Angel Alita. Alita has no memories of her past and a relatively frail body. Just as she starts to discover who she really is, her potential makes her a target for those who want her power.

(Gore, PG-13: Language) The trailer for Shane Black’s The Predator features cocky humans who are about to have their butts handed to them, a character who somehow survives despite not knowing how to fight, a scary alien, and an even scarier alien.

(Gore) Our latest look at Antoine Fuqua’s (Training Day) action thriller sees Denzel Washington take on small-time punks, until the death of a friend lures him back to battle with the big ones. The movie premieres 7/20/18.

From Alan Wake and Quantum Break maker Remedy comes a new supernatural action game. Control takes place inside a secret agency building that has been overtaken by an otherworldly threat. Fight back with abilities such as telekinesis and time-manipulation.

Freddie Wong goes up against the guys from Corridor in this action short about a pair of FBI agents who do their darnedest to impress a woman with their handgun handling skills. It’s shallow and silly, but entertaining nonetheless.

Keanu Reeves plays a diamond merchant in this action thriller. The protagonist travels to Russia to sell diamonds, but his wares turn out to be as questionable as his new clients. Things get complicated when he falls in love with a local.

Four robbers are killed in a heist gone wrong. Their widows step up to finish the job. Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya and more star in critically-acclaimed directors Steve McQueen and writer Gillian Flynn’s intriguing thriller.

Our first look at martial arts master Jackie Chan’s sci-fi action flick, about a policeman on the hunt for a mechanically-augmented villain, and a young girl carrying a bio-chemical invention that everyone wants. Yeah, we just want to see Jackie kick some ass too.

In Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Ethan Hunt tries to finish a mission that ended badly. This leads the CIA to question his motives, and ends up sending other agents – including one played by Henry Cavill – to take down Hunt. Twice the enemies, twice the stunts.

(Gore) “…the only disappointment is that I only get to do it once.” Former CIA black ops Robert McCall pulls a John Wick when his friend is murdered. Denzel Washington reunites with director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) for another brutal action flick.

“This hospital was built on two things: trust, and rules.” Jodie Foster stars as the head of Hotel Artemis, a hospital for criminals. Her new patients bring trouble to her door in the form of a crime boss played by Jeff Goldblum. It’s like a back story to the John Wick hotel.

In this Mad Max-inspired post-apocalyptic action flick, a man must venture out into the wasteland to find medicine for a queen, and ends entangled with a deranged warlord after an encounter with his prized cyborg. James Franco, Milla Jovovich, and Lucy Liu star.

(PG-13: Language, Gore) Logan Marshall-Green stars in this low-budget action flick about a man who gets upgraded with an brainstem implant that turns him into a deadly killer, hellbent on revenge against the criminals who murdered his wife and turned him into a quadriplegic.

(PG-13: Nudity) Jared Leto stars as an American soldier imprisoned in post-WWII Japan and who ends up serving as a Yakuza enforcer as a way to earn his freedom. Based on a concept by Sons of Anarchy Executive Producer John Linson. Coming to Netflix on 3/9/18.

The second trailer for the Tomb Raider reboot wants to prove just how faithful it is to the spirit of the video game reboot. In other words, prepare to wince and gasp in what appears to be one long quicktime event. Mash the X button, Lara! Mash!

“Every human being is a puzzle of need. You must become the missing piece, and they will tell you everything.” Jennifer Lawrence stars as a Russian spy specializing in seduction and manipulation. Her loyalties are tested when she falls for a CIA agent. Premieres 3/2/18.

Another year has passed, and GoPro action cameras yet again helped to capture some of the year’s most epic, beautiful, entertaining, and dramatic sights. There’s no way a sub-3-minute video can sum it all up, but it’s still worth a watch – even if it is just a commercial.
