Awesome Action

(NSFW, Gore) It looks like Michael Bay could win the hearts of doubting moviegoers before Transformers 4 is released. This action comedy based on a true story is looking more and more promising.

(NSFW: Language) Kick-Ass is ripped, Col. Stars and Stripes thinks crime fighting is fun and just when Hit Girl thought she was out, they pull her back in in the new trailer for Kick-Ass 2.

(Spoilers) If you’re already sold on G.I. Joe: Retaliation, then don’t watch this clip. It’s that good. It’s really for folks who are on the fence or are not interested in seeing the whole movie.

From the jokers that brought us Magicka comes The Showdown Effect, a sidescrolling multiplayer game featuring 80’s and 90’s action hero stereotypes. It’s like PvP Contra, if it had more clichés in it.

Michael Bay’s less over-the-top than usual Pain & Gain is about Miami’s Sun Gym Gang, a group of muscleheads who turned to a life of crime. It’s based on a series of articles by Pete Collins.

The Joes get knocked down (and they get up again), the U.S. President is a shape-shifting Smurf and London is dealt a fiery death from above in the latest trailer for the delayed G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Assaulted by legions of gigantic monsters, man builds equally massive fighting robots to fight back. It’s monsters vs. mecha in director Guillermo del Toro’s latest. Is it just us, or is that GLaDOS talking?

We’re sure hoping that Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot is as dark and epic as it looks from this dramatic trailer. One can only hope this is The Dark Knight of Superman. (Thanks Larry!)

The 2nd trailer for Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger shares more of Johnny Depp’s Tonto, and Armie Hammer as the Ranger. Looks much less over-the-top than Pirates, and that’s a good thing.

The action flick Gangster Squad is a fictionalized take on the LAPD’s efforts to catch Brooklyn-born mobster Mickey Cohen in 1949. Starring Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

Instead of slapping an add-on camera onto headgear, the iON is an 8mp/1080p HD camera built into a slick pair of impact and fog-resistant goggles. Its controls work through thick gloves too.
