Awesome Skateboarding

For a stunt to promote California tourism, pro-skater Bob Burnquist’s skated on one of the most awesomely scenic skate parks ever built – a set of ramps that was floated onto the beautifully blue/green waters of Lake Tahoe.

We’ve been waiting since 1989 for Hoverboards to become reality. In this promo for HUVrTech, Tony Hawk and other celebs get to try out the world’s first functional hoverboard. Yes, it all looks like VFX trickery, but we want to believe.

The Red Bull skate team took over an office space on the 23rd floor of a high rise in our sweet home of Chicago but opted to keep pushing their decks as opposed to pencils. Wonder if they had any board meetings? Great pics of the day here.

Inventor Patrick McDowell created the V-Brake to improve skateboard safety, adding an easy-to-install foot-braking mechanism to the rear axle which allows you to control your downhill speed without having to drag your foot on the ground.

We’ve seen dogs ride on skateboards before, but Dash is a true overachiever. Not only does he ride the bowls and ramps in an actual skate park, he knows how to flip the board over with his paws and continue riding.

Skaters have been pulling off tricks involving multiple skateboards for a long time, but we’ve not seen anyone do it the way Adam Miller did – by pulling off a gainer backflip down a set of stairs.

Casey Neistat found himself with a 10-hour layover while flying from NYC to Capetown, South Africa. He took full advantage of the brief time he had on the ground, then edited the entire clip on flight #2.
