Awesome Pinball

WrestleMania fans, get out your wallets. Stern Pinball’s latest machine features the sights and sounds of the WWE ring. The LE model gets a 5.7″ full color video screen, Hulk Hogan’s autograph and other goodies. Go inside the machine here.

We recently went inside the Stern Pinball factory to see just what it takes to make a modern pinball machine. Fortunately, the day we were there, they were working on The Walking Dead, which made the visit doubly sweet.

One of the most unique games we’ve ever seen, Rollers of the Realms is a roleplaying game with pinball mechanics. Characters take on the form of pinball balls, each with its own abilities. Available on Windows, PS4 and PS Vita.

The dude abides in this new officially-licensed pinball machine. It has a tiny bowling alley, a white russian, and video and audio samples from the movie. Pre-order by 10/19 for a bunch of swag, including a rug to tie the room together.

Art student Sam van Doorn deconstructed a pinball machine and reconstructed it as a design tool he calls STYN. The finished design all depends on your level of interaction with the machine.

Who knew The Who could sound so good played on ukuleles. Thanks to the Durham Ukelele Orchestra, we now know these tiny Hawaiian guitars can rock. Yeah, we know the guy on bass is cheating.

The guys behind this LEGO machine are real pinball wizards. It’s built from ~8000 LEGOs, including 6 NXT robots, 9 touch sensors, 10 light sensors and 4 motors. Only the ball isn’t a LEGO part.

Mostly analog and barely digital, playing pinball often tilts towards magic than science; this Pinball Wizard t-shirt is a flipping-good homage to masters of old-school coin-op pwnage.
