Awesome Pickup Trucks

Hyundai finally makes good on its promised compact pickup truck. The 2022 Santa Cruz is based on the Tucson, but has a 4-foot bed with underbed storage. The mini truck will come with a standard 190hp 2.5L engine, with an optional 275hp turbocharged version with a dual-clutch transmission. AWD is available on all trims.

Weighing just 62 pounds, GentleTent’s inflatable tent puts a spacious camping shelter on your pickup truck. The rooftop area can hold a full-size mattress, while the bed section has a standing height of 7+ feet. When not in use, it folds to just 7″ high. Perfect for dual-cab Rangers, Colorados, Frontiers, and Tacomas.

EV startup Canoo is showing off the design for its compact electric pickup. The futuristic truck has modular bed dividers, a split tailgate, pull-out steps and bed extender, a hidden work table, and a front storage area with 110-volt and USB outlets. It will come in RWD or AWD with 300hp or 600hp, and a range of about 200 miles.

After 17 years, Nissan’s garage-sized Frontier pickup has been redesigned with a bold new look. It packs a new 310 hp 3.8L V6 and 9-speed gearbox. The interior has a clean new look, and a much-needed technology overhaul. PRO-X and PRO-4X models get upgraded Bilstein shocks, skid plates, and 17″ off-road wheels.

The redesigned F-150 Raptor is even more off-road capable. With a new five-link rear suspension, it has up to 15″ of wheel travel, next-gen active FOX shocks, a new active exhaust, and up to 37″ tires for high-speed desert travel. It has an upgraded 3.5L EcoBoost V6, a 10-speed automatic, and a 36-gal tank for 500+ miles between fill-ups.

Building upon the TRX concept, Ram is finally making a production version of this powerful off-road truck. It packs a monster 6.2L supercharged V8 that makes 702hp, launching the truck from 0 to 60 in 4.5 sec. The lifted truck has 11.8″ of clearance, is 6″ wider than a standard Ram 1500, and rides on massive 35″ all-terrain tires.

General Motors Defense presents a troop transporter based on the rugged Chevy Colorado ZR2 pickup. It’s got an open air design with a roll cage, secure seating for nine, skid plates, and beefy off-road suspension and tires. Its minimal structure and mounting points allow it to be deployed from a helicopter using a sling.

We managed to get our grubby little paws on the Ford Performance F-150 Raptor, and were blown away by just how good this truck is at everything.
