Steve Mahan is legally blind, with 95% of his vision already gone. He’s also the first user of Google’s self-driving car. Gearheads may balk at this technology, but we can’t deny that it has its uses.

An open top, two-seater variant of the i8, its drivetrain combines an electric motor and a combustion engine. Goes from 0 to 62 in 5s with a top speed of 155mph and gets an amazing 94mpg.

Unlike most concept vehicles, the J-12’s design gives it an old school charm. Based on the 2012 Wrangler Unlimited, the J-12 has a 6ft. cargo bed, a 3in. suspension lift kit and 36in. tires.

Two Twist bicycles can be connected to form a tandem bike. The rear wheel has attachments for two pairs of pedals and is easily removable, while the seat and handlebars can switch places.

While most of us would want to hide our mess of gadget cables, Daniel Ballou’s concept uses them to turn a desk into an industrial landscape. We wish there were tiny birds to go along with the towers.

6 Legged Tees are treated with permethrin, a repellent that keeps insects like mosquitoes, ticks and flies away and lasts up to 70 washings. Each shirt is silkscreened by hand using organic inks.

Aatma Studio became famous for its futuristic take on the iPhone 5. They’re doing it again with the iPad 3, imagining a magnetic edge-to-edge display, NFC and holographic capabilities. More like iPad 10.

Infiniti’s sexy Emerg-E concept car is coming to Geneva; it will be propelled by a mid-mounted range-extender drivetrain which combines an electric motor and an internal combustion engine.

The soon-to-be-revealed 16′, 3740 lb Pininfarina Cambiano coupe has some intriguing details: it has three doors and gets powered by a diesel-fueled microturbine that juices four 80 hp electric motors.

A concept by Ukrainian designer Michael Samoriz, the Projector table lamp has 25 LEDs arranged in a square, calling to mind the huge spotlights in stadiums. This would go well with foosball tables.

The disappearing door slides into a slot under the car, making it easier to get into and get out of vehicles. We’re not sure how it would fare if the car ends up on its side in a crash.

Corning’s follow up to its vision of a fancy future will regale you with glass that projects holograms, light-sensitive glass and more. It looks like the pen and paper are about to go extinct.

A coupe with classic lines but fitted with modern tech designed by the Huet brothers. The HB Coupe will have an all-carbon monocoque, a 3.0L 6-cylinder 306hp engine and weigh about 2,600lbs.

ADR Studio builds on their iWatch concept, making it larger and thinner and adding a front-facing camera. It seems that Apple is working on something far less portable though.

Designed by Patrick Jouffret of French studio Agence 360, the Overade is a concept bike helmet that folds in half. Its portability is meant to encourage cyclists to carry (and wear) helmets.

If the MOEGI is thin and light, the XTW250 RYOKU is chunky and rugged. Designed for camping, it has an AC generator, a large rear carrier and an engine guard that also acts as a shovel.

Tag Heuer used a new mechanical regulator to create a timepiece that beats 7.2 million times per hour – well above the average of 28,800 – making it accurate up to 1/2,000th of a second. More here.

Designer Gustavo Brenck combined hauling your stuff and urban transportation with his lightweight “Gig Pack” concept. At this point, it’s just a prototype, but we’d love to see it produced.

Microsoft and Corning came up with the snazzy concept videos, but Samsung put its money where the future is. Its transparent, one-way touch screen window is usable both in daylight and at night.

The sleek new version of the Acura NSX will be produced in the next three years; it’ll be powered by a mid-mount V-6 with a rumored 3.5L, 310 hp hybrid engine with Super Handling All Wheel Drive.
