Gone are the days when farmers need workers to individually pluck vegetables from the earth, instead relying on marvels of engineering, like the Dewulf GKIIISE carrot harvester, a machine that can yank carrots from the ground, and remove their leafy green tops automatically.

Ever wondered how to mow grass on the side of steep hills? This crazy contraption is a motorized push mower that can handle the most challenging of terrain, thanks to its huge studded wheels. Though it looks like it crushes grass, more than mows it.

Inspired by anime One-Punch Man, artist Shinrashinge created a wonderful hand-animated interpretation, which plays out on a series of three stacked paper coffee cups, using illustrations and cutouts to acheive the effect.

People put additions onto their houses all the time, but we never thought you could expand a cruise ship to add more space. Check out this fascinating time-lapse clip of a cruise ship as it was cut in twain, and stretched at the Blohm+Voss Shipyards back in 2008.

The Backyard Scientist has made a habit of pouring molten aluminum into things to see how it will interact with them. This time, he pours the hot metal into an aquarium filled with thousands of water-absorbent polymer beads. The resulting sculptures are totally awesome.

In tribute to the release of The Force Awakens, pop artist Red Hong Yi created a series of sculptures which look like disjointed, almost random objects, but when illuminated at just the right angle, they cast shadows of iconic images from the Star Wars universe.

Beyond Slow Motion picked up a stack of colorful Magination magnets, then captured how dropping a single one into the mix causes them all to pull together toward each other. By adding some water and colored powder to the mix, the effect is even more impressive.

Japan is home to all kinds of weird and wonderful foodstuffs. The latest of which are these pre-packaged slices of chocolate, which you can use much like a slice of American cheese. They’re sold in packs of 60 slices from Japanese confectioner Bourbon for about $27.

Joby Aviation’s two-seat fixed-wing flyer has 12 propellers to help it take off and land like a helicopter, but can stow eight of them and flip the other four to turn it into a conventional airplane while cruising. It uses electric motors to fly at speeds up to 200 mph.

YouTuber rctestflight has created what is possibly the brightest portable light ever made, by combining 10 100-watt LED panels into a blindingly bright source of illumination that can turn the darkest of nights into day.

Perhaps the coolest looking dice ever made, these aluminum cubes have built in LED lighting behind the pips. A motion sensor activates the lights only when you pick them up to roll. Their maker can’t guarantee perfect balance, but they’re still awesome. (Thanks Joseph!)

Brett Jubinville and Tinman Creative Studio have posted the first episode of their animated series which envisions a world in which our greatest scientific minds possess superpowers, and must help save the world from evil. It’s proof that Kickstarter can lead to great things.

Artist Courtney Brown envisions a fantastic typewriter that can type for itself, courtesy of its eight tentacles. Titled “Self Organization,” the sculpture was made from a 1938 Underwood and intricately shaped bronze, and took top prize at the 2015 California Sculpture SLAM.

Han drank first. Or at least that’s the story we’re sticking to. This awesome drink flask was created by If Industries, who sells cool arcade belt buckles on their Etsy shop. Sadly, due to licensing concerns, you can’t buy one. At least not yet.

Just opened in Nashville, Tenneseee, the Carvana vending machine allows car buyers to complete their car purchases online, then deposit a giant coin into a slot to receive their vehicle from a mechanized parking garage. It’s a silly idea, but also awesome.
