Gameplay: Lich King
Although there’s not much sound, this montage-style trailer for WoW’s upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion gives a pretty good idea of gameplay and new environments.

Quantum Theory is Asia’s answer to Gears of War, with a predictably pretty looking hero (named “Sid” of all things); it’s also got a bit of Fracture mixed in with deformable environments.
The trailer could be clearer, but we like what we see with indie-developed Naumachia, a multiplayer space-combat sim; they’re currently working on the alpha and looking for investors.
Scoring 97 points, Jean-Marc’s XO Vodka is premium-level liquor; distilled nine times with four French wheat grains, this unflavored vodka is super smooth with hints of star anise.
In theaters now, City of Ember is definitely geared towards a younger audience, but we’re intrigued by its post-apocalyptic survivor story. It smacks of a kid-friendly version of Fallout.
Blasphemy: we prefer Mecha to the original Godzilla: standing 11″ tall and amazingly detailed for a vinyl, Mecha Godzilla sports articulating limbs; no word on the laser eye cannon, however.
GemCraft is a fantasy-oriented Tower Defense game. Towers are upgraded with “gems” which can be mixed to increase potency; if you’re in a bind, lob ’em at enemies and they’ll explode.
Most game trailers are pretty run of the mill, but we like this S.H.I.E.L.D trailer for Spider-Man: Web of Shadows; it’s like a public service announcement, albeit with tongue in cheek.
It’s what we’ve all been waiting for: more gameplay vids for Starcraft 2. Check out either the Zerg vs. Terran or the Protoss goin’ at the Terrans. The Colossus is weak sauce, btw.
We’re always a fan of epic football movies, and The Express seems to be no exception. Starring Dennis Quaid and Rob Brown, it’s about the first African American to win the Heisman.
We can never get enough Blizzard news, which is why we’re amped up by this latest trailer for Diablo III that focuses on the wizard class. Hang in there: gameplay is towards the end.
Available 11/25, Halo: The Cole Protocol is the sixth Halo novel; it’s written by Nebula Award-winning author Tobias S. Buckell and reveals the location of the missing Spartan Gray Team.
No doubt intended to augment the Moon Hater, Adrian Florea’s Hephaestus Crawler is a steampunk LEGO crawler with a cannon; it walks on eight legs like Theo Jansen’s kinetic walkers.
It’s the game that never ends: PowerUp Forever is the 2D space shooter we’ve been praying for, with swarms of enemies and gorgeous graphics; it’s coming to PSN and XBLA this fall.
Not all robots and monsters are bad: for $50, Joe Alterio will draw you an original robot or monster based on three words you supply; the proceeds will then be donated to a charity.
The Skyscout Planetarium is a dream fulfilled for backyard astronomers everywhere; just point this handheld unit at the sky, and using built-in GPS it’ll identify the nearest star or planet.
Warlords: Heroes is a simple fantasy adventure game; decent graphics, leveling up of powers and three game modes gives this more staying power than most freebie games.
Just in time for Halloween: Drinkhacker has a surprisingly sanguine review of Vampyre Vodka; the 80-proof drink is 3x distilled with a smooth finish; the Red variant makes a great mixer.
Above is a walkthrough for Dawn of War 2’s Space Marine campaign; narrated by the lead designer, it talks about use of cover, squad abilities and finishes with a little orbital bombardment.
Although this trailer starts off the same as the Halo 3 Recon teaser we ran earlier, this longer version shows a Spartan hiding from Covenant forces; the expansion won’t be out until Fall ’09.
Sick of the moon, with its craters and… moonliness? This Moon Hater Death Ray is a supersized version of Weta’s Blunderbuss, with a sweet steampunk design that will send Luna packin’.
Your voyeuristic proclivities will run wild with the remote controlled ATV-360; a pair of LCD glasses receives wireless video and audio from the tank, with treads to climb over obstacles.
