Jeremy Clarkson helps Amazon show off its new and improved delivery drone, which is much larger than the previously shown prototype but still takes off and lands vertically. This drone has a range of 15 miles, flies at about 60mph and carries up to 5 pound packages.

Andrej Karpathy’s Neural Talk is a neural network that learns to identify the objects in photos. Kyle McDonald modified the software to run in real time, i.e. to continuously guess what it’s “seeing” from a live video feed. It’s far from perfect, but it’s still impressive.

Perhaps the coolest looking dice ever made, these aluminum cubes have built in LED lighting behind the pips. A motion sensor activates the lights only when you pick them up to roll. Their maker can’t guarantee perfect balance, but they’re still awesome. (Thanks Joseph!)

Artist Graham Dunning demonstrates how to replicate sounds normally created with synthesizers and digital equipment, instead using a turntable, vinyl records, and mechanical and electrical devices in their place. The whole thing gets pretty bonkers by the end.

It might look like a can of Red Bull, but it’s actually a colorful lighting fixture. Designed to throw a splash of colorful light on walls or ceilings, these battery-powered, remote controlled LED lights can go anywhere, and stay lit for up to 8 hours per charge.

(Flashing lights) Playmodes used Eduardo Cajal’s upcycled fuselage to make Porta Estellar (Star Gate), an audiovisual installation that took audiences on a breathtaking six-minute interstellar trip. It was opened to the public in Barcelona’s Ciutadella park this past Sept.

We can’t fathom the amount of work it took Frank Howarth to shoot this stop-motion video of a lawn chair crafting itself without a single carpenter. If it looks familiar, that’s because Frank’s bookcase and table saw posses the same magical properties. (Thanks Victor!)

Oh, how we love the nostalgic, quirky goodness of Sara and Bobby Rosenstock’s letterpress collection. Handmade on their Vandercook press, with woodcut illustrations and great color combinations, it doesn’t even matter if we missed the show – we still feel connected.

Artist Courtney Brown envisions a fantastic typewriter that can type for itself, courtesy of its eight tentacles. Titled “Self Organization,” the sculpture was made from a 1938 Underwood and intricately shaped bronze, and took top prize at the 2015 California Sculpture SLAM.
