Violinist Rob Landes kicks things off in Noob mode with the familiar music from Super Mario World, then quickly levels up and progresses towards the incredibly challenging Epic mode. Rob previously did the same for the Super Mario Bros. theme.

The squared off ceramic mug borrows its shape from the classic NES game cartridge, only this time you need to blow on it to cool off your coffee, and not to get the game to load.

LEGO and Nintendo have teamed up to create a unique line of playthings inspired by the world of Super Mario. Designed primarily for kids, the toys can build worlds inspired by platform game design. The highlight is an interactive Mario figure that collects virtual coins as he’s moved around each level.

5MadMovieMakers has a little fun with Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi as they zoom along Hot Wheels tracks, performing jumps, spinning through loops, and racing each other in a real-life version of Mario Kart. Using a loop of track as a monowheel was a fun trick we’ve not seen before.

Inspired by other videos of guitars being made with unconventional materials and techniques, Cranmer Guitars decided to build a custom electric guitar featuring a scene from Super Mario Bros. He created 29,000 pixel blocks by slicing popsicle sticks into perfect squares, dying the wood, then gluing them in small sections.

With the recent release of Super Mario Maker 2, TheDominoKing decided to pay tribute to the franchise with an epic setup of 127,055 dominoes, all arranged to form images from the Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario World styles from the game. It took him about 2 months in total to set it all up.

Everyone’s other favorite Italian plumber is back to dustbust more ghosts in this game for Nintendo Switch. Luigi gets a few new tricks like the ability to switch from suck to blow, an alter-ego named “Gooigi,” and online and local co-op gameplay with 2 to 8 players. Drops late 2019.

Mario Kitty finds out that Princess Kitty has gone missing, and recruits the help of Human Luigi to rescue her in this cute, charming, and well-executed short film by Mr.TVCow. We’re dying to see what Bowser looks like. We’re thinking an English mastiff with a spiky collar.

Shaun White’s gold medal-winning Halfpipe run in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics was pretty epic all on its own. But Dylan “Tater Tot” Tate decided to give it a little more sparkle and shine with the addition of visuals and sound effects from Super Mario Bros.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle sees Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi team up with their Rabbid counterparts in this turn-based tactical RPG. Beneath the silly art style lies a deep combat system. And also Rabbid Peach. Drops 8/29/17 for the Switch.

Everyone and everything wears Mario’s hat in what could be the killer app for the Switch – a massive 3D platformer with the kind of creative level design, innovative and fun gameplay that harkens back to the all-time Nintendo classic Super Mario 64. Drops 10/27/17.

A guy finds himself stranded when his car won’t start, and the only ride he can get home is in a go kart. Unfortunately, the vehicle he gets his hands on belongs to somebody else, and he wants it back. A fun Nintendo fan film from Nukazooka.

We’re not sure who the animator is behind this dark alternative version of the Mushroom Kingdom, but we love the idea of a Mario game where our plumber tosses bombs at enemies, and leaves a bloody wake in his path. We need this to be playable.

The definitive version of Mario Kart 8 comes with all of the game’s previously released downloadable content. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also adds new Battle Modes, up to 4-player local multiplayer, and up to 12-player online multiplayer races. Drops 4/28/17.

For his first game on the new Nintendo Switch, Mario heads off on an adventure of epic proportions, from expansive urban settings, to colorful and cartoony worlds we’re more used to seeing our plumber in.

We’ve heard plenty of cover versions of the music from Mario games, but Samuraiguitarist knocked it out of the park with this one, which not only perfectly lines up with the gameplay in the top left corner, but includes appropriate sound effects produced with his guitar.

Animator My Name Is Banks turned his world into a Terry Gilliam-esque play on the Mario Maker universe, filled with impossible levels, deadly obstacles, warp pipes galore, countless enemies, and music based on the theme and sounds from the game.

A few years back, Dark Pixel treated us to a little Super Mario parkour action. Now Mario and Luigi are back to entertain us with more acrobatic antics in their VFX-enhanced suburbs slash Mushroom Kingdom.
