Awesome Jet

ProjectAir has been working on a jet-powered R/C race car with the goal of breaking a speed record. In this video, he tested his jet car’s speed and stability on a race track. He didn’t push it anywhere near the limit yet, but he did race it against Major Havoc’s jet-powered go-kart. We love the sound this thing makes when it spools up.

We’ve featured some actual jet-powered vehicles, but the 2JetZ only looks like a jet fighter, with a vegetable steamer playing the part of the jet’s nozzle. Luis Rodriguez’s custom-built single-seater features an airplane-like cockpit, a 627hp turbocharged Toyota 2JZ engine, and is being made into a Hot Wheels toy for 2020.

Builder Ivan Miranda shows off a unique remote-controlled vehicle he 3D printed that steers entirely by adjusting the direction of its thrust. The field test video demonstrates it’s lack of controllability, but we’re betting it would be fun on a frozen lake or skating rink.

It took a lot of trial and error, but The Hacksmith eventually got his twin-turbine-powered snowboard to propel him along his snowy neighborhood’s streets without need for so much as a hill or a tow from a car. Skip to 8:45 to see it in action.

Colin Furze is known for making amped-up, but horribly dangerous vehicles. His latest creation? A bicycle with a ridiculous, fire-spewing jet propulsion system. Go figure his biggest problem was the tires.
