Interno Italiano’s Neri are minimalist pens and mechanical pencils. Instead of having caps and the usual refilling system, they simply have a brass thumbscrew, akin to that used in technical compasses, to hold the ink cartridge or adjust the pencil lead.

An electric fire starter, Sparky uses two AAA batteries and a copper tip to deliver up to 3.5V of electricity, enough to set steel wool or gum wrapper foil on fire. It has an aluminum or copper body and a twist cap with a clip.

Nikken Cutlery sells a line of scissors that look like Japanese swords. They have blades lined with hamon, handles that look like wrapped hilts and scabbards for storage. The top-of-the-line model is based on the sword of the warlord Oda Nobunaga and costs over $300.

Debuting in the Aston Martin Vulcan, Nexcel is an “oil cell” that contains both automotive oil and an oil filter. It lets you change oil in just 90s and makes it easier to recover and recycle used oil. Castrol aims to have it cost the same as a standard oil change.
