Free: Light Heroes
Take R-Type, mix it liberally with Dragonball Z and you’ll get Light Heroes, a side-scrolling shoot ’em up with a surprising amount of upgrades; warning: your clicking finger will hurt.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun has a trio of Prince of Persia trailers up; suffice to say, they’re all good, but our favorite is the story trailer, which although lengthy at 5 minutes is absolutely gorgeous.
For Blizzard fanatics: Echoes of War; is an orchestral soundtrack with 90 minutes of music from StarCraft, WarCraft and Diablo, and will be available in standard and legendary editions.
Mirror’s Edge 2D is a terrific side-scrolling version of the original game, although it’s limited to one stage. It takes getting used to but hang on to that S key for some glorious airtime.
This trailer for Bionic Commando eschews cinematics and exposition for good ol’ fashioned gameplay; we’re positively stoked at how fast-paced and action-packed this game looks.
This Kingdom Under Fire II trailer looks like an epic Lord of the Rings battle; the fact that it’s a massively multiplayer RTS has us chomping at the bit for more. It’ll drop sometime in 2009.
As if we hadn’t been sold long, long ago on Left 4 Dead, this minigun gameplay video is icing on the cake. Bloody, bloody icing with lots of carnage, but tasty icing nonetheless.
With Mirror’s Edge out, players may experience a strange feeling of deja vu with this LBP mashup video; totalitarian governments are no match for the cutest runners on earth.
After years of rooftop piloting, Snoopy’s dreams have finally come true: we’re rooting for the little guy, as he’s got his own WWI Flying Ace game with a 2010 release date.
Those of us still waiting for a true Master of Orion successor should check out StarBaron; it’s a space-themed RTS that isn’t too complex, making it ideal for a lunch break romp.
Joe Esposito crooning You’re The Best to a Street Fighter II gameplay montage just seems transcendent; we can only hope the Capcom gods deign to include this in-game one day.
Combining zombies with tower defense, Zombie Attack is a surefire hit; it costs less than a buck and is now available at the iTunes App Store. Note: nausea warning on the video above.
Quick Fire Pool does away with opponents and pits you against the timer; basically, pocket as many balls as you can in a given time, with extra time and points for special moves.
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is shaping up to be an awesome party game; this trailer shows off 4-player split screen, wicked avatar customization and hair-singeing jumps over lava.
This Eve Online trailer for the Quantum Rise expansion lays it on thick, with “breaking news” of a surprise invasion. The real star of the show: enhanced stability and gameplay tweaks.
Made with AfterEffects in only 20 hours, this Mega Man stop motion video by Nicolas Menard features paper cutters of death, dangerous Oreos and a hat tip to classic Nintendo controllers.
Move over, M. Bison: Street Fighter IV boss Seth is the Silver Surfer with a bad case of villainous exposition; however, we can’t help but think his reliance on magic is a bit of a cop-out.
Coming soon to Burnout: Paradise: called the Jansen 88 Special, we all know it’s just Doc Brown’s DeLorean; dual flame trails at 88mph and the fact that it flies are not-so-subtle hints.
It’s not quite as cool as playing Zelda with tesla coils, the Ocarina iPhone app is more portable and less likely to electrocute; you can even hear what others are playing around the world.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first dino guitarist we’ve seen, but LBP continues to wow us with Heavy Metal Mullet, an ode to hair metal with a bone-crushing finale on a skull elevator.
This Halo Wars Limited Collector’s Edition might justify a little February splurge; it comes with a graphic novel, three maps, Spirit of Fire patch and six leader cards.
This Sugar Rush trailer looks like something out of Adult Swim, but the actual gameplay for the MMO is a bit simpler (yet still zany). They’re now accepting beta sign ups on their forums.
