Awesome Paintings

The process behind Holton Rower’s paintings – made by pouring paint and letting gravity take over – is far more fascinating than the finished product. We wonder how long these things take to dry.

As part of his exhibit at the Konami Style store in Japan, Konami illustrator Yoji Shinkawa did a live painting of Big Boss aka Naked Snake in the smoky and gritty style familiar to fans of Metal Gear Solid.

Watch artists Supakitch and Koralie work on their mixed media wall art at the VÄRLDSKULTUR MUSEET (Museum of World Culture) in Göteborg, Sweden. It took them four days to finish the job.

These hyper-realistic paintings were made by Denis Peterson. Some people hate on his craft, but if we think people who are good at spinning pens are cool, shouldn’t we applaud this man’s skill?

Eric Grohe specializes in making murals that provide the illusion of depth. It takes Grohe up to a year to finish a project, because he studies exactly how shadows fall on the wall he’s painting over.

Artist Federico Uribe had been making artwork using shoes when Puma sent him a bunch of different colored laces. Then inspiration struck. Uribe’s “paintings” now fetch as much as $70,000.
