Awesome Mashups

Ellen Hinton does a sweet mash up of Train’s Hey Soul Sister and Yael Naim’s New Soul, using mostly iPad and iPhone apps – even for shooting the video itself. Apple could easily use this as an ad.

YouTube user ACDPresents mashed up the audio from the trailer of You Got Served with scenes from Fiddler on the Roof, turning the latter into something that’s straight up hood. Or not.

While the music from a variety of artists plays on mashupbreakdown.com, the website gives a visual representation of which samples are currently playing and when they overlap. (Thanks Matt!)

This mashup of that fun Coca-Cola snowglobe commercial with Hans Zimmer’s Mind Heist theme from Inception proves you can attach it to any clip to make it just that much ominous.

Who knew that Darth Vader got his start guarding the forest on Endor? We sure didn’t. Nor did we know that King Arthur’s quest led him there. Vader could use a pair of those Luke Arms after this.

The guys at Filmdrunk mix the trailer from the new Yogi Bear movie with footage of deadly bear maulings and pic-a-nick basket pillaging. Looks way more entertaining than the CGI version.

YouTube user Genrocks mashes up a whopping 270 movies from 2010, stringing lines and sequences together to make it seem like you’re watching a trailer for the most awesome movie ever made.

The title of this Rankin-Bass-Police holiday musical mashup pretty much says it all. “Rudolph (You Don’t Have to Put on the Red Light)”. Maybe Sting was the long lost 10th reindeer?

(NSFW: Language) What happens when you take Aliens and mash it up with TRON? A little bit of awesome. It’s just one of the many movies TRON-itized for this year’s Butt-Numb-A-Thon.

We’re not sure Dumbledore would approve of the autotuning, but aside from that this mashup of movie lines from Harry Potter from Norwegian Recycling might put a smile on your face.

Funny thing about Breanne Brennan’s trailer mashup is that a guy named Joel Cohen co-wrote the original Toy Story and Joel Coen co-wrote the True Grit remake. Well played. Well played.

While it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen a mashup of these two, 2SunsNoWomen‘s version is one of the better ones we’ve come across. Picard vs. Vader! Ultimate facepalm!

Ever wanted to make your own mashup video? You could try YouTube’s editor, but it’s not nearly as much fun as YouTube Doubler, which lets you sync up two videos and play them side-by-side.
