At Burning Man 2022, Studio Drift put on an amazing light show using 1000 drones as their medium. After a display of geometric forms, the show culminated with a gigantic 3D human head gazing down at the crowd. Vitaly Katasonov captured video of the performance. We kept wanting it to shout, “SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!“

Inspired by a fan submission to LEGO Ideas, this 2,065-piece kit lets you assemble a 19.7″ tall model lighthouse. It has great details like a lighthouse-keeper’s cottage, a rowboat, and a hidden treasure chest. But the literal highlight of the set is the rotating, lighted beacon at its top, complete with a LEGO fresnel lens.

Replicating the sun’s brightness indoors isn’t easy to achieve. But if anyone can pull it off, it’s the guys from Corridor Crew. Though this time out, they didn’t rely on computers and visual effects and instead loaded up the studio with an insane amount of lighting gear. We’re amazed they didn’t light their test subject on fire.

There are a few kits out there that allow you to add lights to LEGO models, but this is the coolest take on the idea we’ve seen. Cultural Gutural created LEDO, light-emitting bricks that use wireless induction to illuminate. Move them near the base plate and they light up thanks to tiny coils and LEDS inside of each brick.

Most modern lanterns are made from plastic. Mantar’s elegant LED lantern is made from aluminum and uses a transparent crystal glass shade to diffuse its light. Its LED offers adjustable color temperature and four brightness settings. Choose from stainless steel, brass, or black aluminum finishes.

There have been many attempts to create full-color ambient lighting for TV screens. Most of them have technical drawbacks or a high cost. CopGain aims to solve those with a value-priced kit that works with 4K HDMI video, has near-zero latency, and renders colors accurately. The Deluxe model works with screens up to 120″.

Colberd makes these tabletop lamps based on 3D models of our solar system’s planets.
