The guys at Screen Junkies take a break from blasting movie trailers to provide their honest take on the streaming services that bring countless movies and TV series into our living rooms every day. At the moment, we’re just grumpy that HBO Max doesn’t work on Amazon Fire, Roku, or LG TVs. Also, we don’t get Quibi at all.

(PG-13: Gore) With its over-the-top violence and incredibly questionable morality, the Amazon Prime series The Boys is definitely not for everyone. We enjoyed the wild ride for its first season, and are looking forward to seeing what’s next. Of course, Screen Junkies has a thing or two to say before season two kicks off.

With movie theaters off limits, Netflix has been keeping us entertained by streaming popcorn flicks into our homes. Despite its flaws, we thought The Old Guard was thoroughly entertaining. Screen Junkies is here to give us their snarky take on the Charlize Theron action movie about a team of immortal mercenaries.

One of life’s must-see movies has to be Paul Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers. It’s loaded with scenery-chewing, quotable quotes, thinly-veiled societal commentary, giant alien insects, and lots of goo. What’s not to like? Screen Junkies couldn’t agree more, and offers their sarcastic take on this brain-sucking classic.

As the number of new movies in theaters is temporarily low, Screen Junkies continues to turn to the past for inspiration, this time setting fire to the 1982 Spielberg classic “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” with a roast that smells like melting Reese’s Pieces. Though the knock-off “Mac and Me” actually got the brunt of the criticism.

Coming off of big budget music videos and commercials, it’s no wonder Michael Bay’s movies have always been so over the top. Watch as Sean Connery, Nic Cage, Ed Harris, and a bunch of great character actors chew the prison scenery in one of the director’s first features, the camp classic action flick, The Rock.

Screen Junkies takes on not just one movie, but three, as it roasts Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade in a single Honest Trailer. From bad stereotypes to Kate Capshaw’s endless screaming, the trilogy had its flaws, but they were packed with great action and fight sequences, and a blast to watch.

Screen Junkies goes back to the ’80s to poke some fun at The NeverEnding Story, a childhood fantasy movie that’s loaded with imaginative imagery and the kind of darkness you’d expect when you hire the guy who directed Das Boot and Outbreak to make a kids movie.

With fewer new movies being released in 2020, Screen Junkies is digging into the archives for classics that they’ve yet to skewer. Sit back and enjoy their take on Luc Besson’s cult sci-fi flick which gave us memes like “Leeloo Dallas MultiPass,” Ruby Rhod’s “Bzzzzzzzzz!,” and the greatest opera solo of all time.

It took them a couple of years to get around to it, but Screen Junkies‘ roasting of Denis Villenueve’s visually spectacular Blade Runner sequel is spot-on. The movie might have been long, deliberately-paced, and self-important, but we still loved every minute of it.

If you missed out on the Tiger King craze, it’s never too late to watch. And if you still need convincing, perhaps Screen Junkies‘ take on the insane Netflix docuseries will push you over the edge. And if you’ve already seen it, welcome back to the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.

While we enjoyed The Rise of Skywalker for the most part, it did try and cram in way too many stories, and had its share of sloppy and too-convenient plot points. Of course Screen Junkies has a lot more beefs about Star Wars Episode IX in their brutally Honest Trailer.

(Spoilers) Rian Johnson’s surprise hit mystery-comedy Knives Out offered a fun take on the whodunit formula, with its ample mix of quirky characters and plot twists. But that doesn’t mean it didn’t have its share of foibles… and Screen Junkies is here to point them all out as usual.

We thought the latest (and likely last) Terminator movie was actually pretty entertaining – if not all that memorable. It certainly underwhelmed at the box office, and Screen Junkies is here with their thoughts on the dark fate of Jim Cameron’s once-blockbuster franchise.

From 1917 to Joker to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the 2020 Academy Awards has some pretty solid contenders. But regardless of how good a movie might be, Screen Junkies is always ready to roast it. So without further ado, enjoy their very special Oscars edition of Honest Trailers.

If there’s one thing that can be said about Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, it’s that it’s one really, really dark movie. So Screen Junkies is here to lighten the mood a bit, as they poke fun at one of the most depressing character studies since Leaving Las Vegas. Are you laughing now?

From jaw-dropping violence, to quoteworthy dialogue, to endless homages and pop culture references, Quentin Tarantino’s films are both a blast and uncomfortable to watch. Screen Junkies tosses barbs at QT’s cinematic universe and numerous obsessions, while still appreciating the greatness of his work.

“It’s a meaningless line of indifference.” Let’s face it. An all-CGI remake of the animated classic The Lion King was a bad idea from the moment it was born in some executive boardroom. As expected, Screen Junkies simply annihilates this soulless showcase for uncannily realistic singing animals. Disney, please stop the madness.

Screen Junkies looks back at Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 film about a writer who becomes unhinged as he simultaneously experiences writer’s block and cabin fever, and his son who seems to be possessed by mysterious forces. At times it’s slow, at times it’s puzzling, at times it’s downright weird, but it’s still a classic.

Some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb. Screen Junkies looks back at one of our favorite comic book movies of all time, the campy and hilarious 1966 feature-length Batman movie based on the Adam West and Burt Ward TV series. It also got us thinking: perhaps a touch of humor is how DC could save the franchise.

Alita: Battle Angel was a groundbreaking film when it comes to integrating computer-generated characters into realistic settings, but it was far from a perfect movie. Screen Junkies pokes fun at the movie’s compressed exposition, rushed character development, silly rollerblading sequences, and sequel-bait ending.

Screen Junkies takes a few minutes to remind us of the mess that was Tim Burton’s reluctant follow-up to his 1989 classic, a Batman movie with very little Batman and two too many villains. Even Michelle Pfeiffer’s skin-tight catsuit couldn’t save this movie from being a faint shadow of its predecessor.

After teaming up for the wild and hilarious Men in Black, Will Smith and director Barry Sonnenfeld thought maybe they could make magic in the Wild Wild West. Instead, they just made a wild wild mess. Screen Junkies roasts the hell out of this 1999 dud, which fortunately was not an indicator of the quality of anyone’s future projects.
