Awesome Covers

We’ve already heard a few great covers of Adele’s powerful James Bond theme song, but none quite as rockin’ as Erock’s metal remix. We’ll have that martini shredded, not stirred.

Musician Josie Charlwood returns with another extraordinary cover version – this time doing a minimal, but nonetheless awesome take on Adele’s theme to the latest and greatest Bond flick.

Matt Mulholland covers Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream by sampling and looping his voice to mimic the accompanying musical instruments. His skill is equaled only by his majestic T-shirt.

It’s official: LMFAO would be great songwriters for other people. The Brett Domino Trio teamed up with Korg to cover Sexy And I Know It with an irony that’s sorely missing in the original.

Brett Domino of the Brett Domino Trio covers Daft Punk’s Aerodynamic on the playable Google Doodle synthesizer. It’s not as awesome as the original track, but come on. He did it on a Doodle.

Wait wait wait don’t ignore this video. We’ve been as sick and tired of LMFAO as you are (i.e. since day one), but this young man going by the mononym Noah has a classy voice and he knows it.

(NSFW: Lyrics) YouTuber bd594’s robot band is back with another cover, and they have a vocalist now: the DECtalk Express, the same type of speech synthesizer that Stephen Hawking used in the 80s.

Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers crank out an awesome lo-fi cover of Hall and Oates’ classic – while she’s driving the van they’re in. Bonus points for the kazoo solo. More van sessions here.

YouTuber Paolody combined Jason Yang’s violin cover with Roger Lima’s rockin’ rendition of Ramin Djawadi’s stellar Game of Thrones opening theme to create this awesome mega-mix.

Adam Ben Ezra knocks out a smooth cover of the Mad Men theme, using only his upright bass and a loop recorder. We can’t help but imagine the show’s cool opening credits. Studio version here.

The members of Walk Off the Earth have their own instruments, but they only needed one guitar for their cover of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know. We didn’t know Capt. Haddock had a band.
