Awesome Comparisons

The earth gets pelted by small meteorites on a regular basis, but bigger bits of asteroids breaking through are far less common. MetaBallStudios does their best to give us a sense just how big some of these space rocks can be, standing them besides the skyscrapers of NYC for comparison.

If you’ve ever wondered just how much bigger the Avengers tower was relative to Ant-Man’s mobile lab, this video answers that question and many more. MetaBall Studios‘ compares structures from movies, TV, and video games and puts them into perspective. We always suspected the Tyrell Corporation was enormous.

Reigarw Comparisons already showed us the chances of winning big and how we might perish. Now they’re back to explore just how unlikely it is that you’d possess one of the many real-world “superpowers” that our genes can bestow us with. Now imagine how slim the odds are of having multiple mutations.

Every wonder how your time here on Earth might end? Well the guys at Reigarw Comparisons decided to put together a little chart to give us some idea of the likelihoods of some of the many ways in which we could each perish. We wish you each something quick and painless.

Do you know how many aluminum cans are used every year? MetaBallStudios created a visual representation to put things into perspective, so they stacked up 200 Billion virtual cans alongside some other objects for comparison. At least aluminum is sustainable. Now think about the 182.5 Billion plastic straws we can’t recycle.

While we wish that MetaBallStudios had included The Legend of Zelda or Super Mario Bros. 3’s world maps for comparison, we still enjoyed watching this 2016 video which shows the relative sizes of world maps from video games from GTA III to Minecraft.

Since the robots in science fiction are just that, fictitious, MetaBallStudios’ could just have made up any measurements they wanted for their latest comparison video and we’d believe them. Regardless, it’s still cool too see just how much bigger Megazord is than R2-D2.
