A single-speed everyday cruiser, Solé’s Micklish bike is made from durable welded steel, with a matte black frame and gold accents. Wheels include Presta valves, and the riveted details on the Cionilli seat are spiffy. More colorways here.
Crafted from ash plywood and steel, we like the clean lines of the WOOD.b bicycle, a collaboration from Strasbourg-based BSG and Thibaut Malet. Available in September 2013.
An adjustable leather handle that sits just above your bicycle’s gears. It lets you carry your bike with your arm in a natural position that’s easier and much more comfortable than if you held your bike up by its top tube.
Colin Furze is known for making amped-up, but horribly dangerous vehicles. His latest creation? A bicycle with a ridiculous, fire-spewing jet propulsion system. Go figure his biggest problem was the tires.
If you’re near San Antonio, check out Joe O’Connell and Blessing Hancock’s Ballroom Luminoso, a series of six chandeliers made from custom structural steel, LEDs and recycled bicycle parts, installed in a cement underpass.
Plume is an easy to install mudguard that gets out of the way when you don’t need it. It behaves like a retractable tape measure. It stays unfurled even in rough terrain, yet it coils back with a gentle press of your finger.
The LEDs on Helios are for more than just illumination. Aside from a headlight, it also has two rear LEDs with multiple functions. They can be used as turn signals, visual speedometers and even provide turn-by-turn directions.
POV footage captured from the top of a ridiculously tall bicycle that measures 14.5 feet from the seat to the ground. Though we’d be more impressed if the rider were wearing stilts. (Thanks Logan!)
Invented by 17-year old Tyler Hadzicki, the ONDA Cycle is the most unusual velocipede we’ve ever seen. It has handles that let you revolve its rear wheels, so you can drift or spin on a dime.
Loopwheels are unusual 20″ bicycle wheels with built-in suspension in the form of flexible carbon composite springs. The wheels still work with conventional hub brakes and gears.
The Sandwichbike is the bicycle for people who love putting things together. It will be shipped to you in a flat pack box, ready for assembly. It has weather-coated layered plywood frames connected by metal cylinders.
Skipping the toothpick and tweezers this time, Victorinox offers a slightly simpler take on the bike tool, with a pocket-sized kit that offers an L-shaped hex wrench, 8 common bits, and a pair of tire-changing levers.
Steve Kuhl invented comfy bicycle seats that use nothing but air as cushion. The air is sealed in durable bladders and the amount of air can be adjusted even while you’re biking. Available in three different shapes.
Made by Shapeways member Chromoly, the Road Popper is a bottle opener that fastens to the underside of a bicycle’s saddle. Each unit is 3D printed and can be made from different varieties of metal.
Wheels with Revolights pre-installed onto the rims using rivets. All you have to do is attach them to your bicycle. You can also now pledge to get a Mission Bicycle with pre-installed Revolights Wheels.
Similar to the Quirky Indicator, Uon Lights are signal lights for bicycles. They attach to handlebar ends and have a white LED, a red LED and an orange turn LED, which can be activated just by tapping the device.
Gorgeous handmade bicycles made of American white ash, the same wood used to craft baseball bats and tool handles. The ash frame naturally dampens vibrations to give a smooth ride.
An offshoot of Boo Bicycles’ carbon fiber and bamboo bikes, Aluboo Bikes have aluminum and bamboo frames. The company claims that the bamboo greatly dampens vibrations for a much smoother ride.
Artist Jurgen Kuipers built a 1:1 scale model kit of his award-winning bicycle, the Sawyer. The bicycle’s unique plywood frame and drivetrain gives it the profile of a lowrider motorcycle.
A three-in-one bike by Mika Becktor, the Cykla can quickly switch between cruiser, road, and commuter modes using an adjustable frame and seat. We also like the integrated lighting, and open spoke design.
Despite its menacing appearance, the Blackbraid bicycle weighs less than 11lbs. Made by PG-Bikes in collaboration with Munich Composites, the bike’s frame is made from braided carbon fiber.
