Collected Works Co.’s backpack is as durable as the original military duffle bags but is filled with pockets and compartments, so you don’t have to dump all of your stuff out just to find the item you’re looking for.

The Freeloader is a compact and portable child carrier. It has a foldable hinge that can support kids up to 80lbs., an F1-inspired safety harness and comfortable straps similar to those found in hiking backpacks.

Joshu+Vela’s handmade backpacks have a no-frills design and are built to last. The bags are made from water-repellent waxed canvas and vegetable tan leather, with copper rivets and brass buckles.

A backpack and portable sound system in one. Just like Solid Gray’s other backpacks, the Bass-pack is made of lightweight yet durable plastic. It also has a foam-lined interior. No word on price or release date yet.

Timothy Adam Maynard designs and makes Bags For Everyone, which are rolltop backpacks made from polyester with treated canvas lining. Available in two sizes and a variety of colors.

Just about the only thing ugly about this bag is it’s steep price. But since it can also transform into a suitcase and a tote bag, think of it as getting three bags for the price of one three bags.

OBEY Clothing’s sturdy nylon backpack is raring to be used and abused. It has an oversized front pouch pocket, an interior laptop slot and trademark labels. Also available in black and camo.
