Inspired by Star Trek: The Animated Series, Gazelle Automations created their own cartoon version of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The fan-made animation does a great job capturing the art style of Filmation’s series, melded with dialogue from our favorite Trek characters. Set headphone volume to Seven of Nine! Engage!

Miles Morales receives an unexpected visit from Gwen Stacy, who asks him to join her on a new Spider-venture. Expect more of Spider-Man 2099 and other Spidey variants as they travel the multiverse and encounter an even more villainous baddie than Kingpin in the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse. In theaters 10.7.2022.

Marvel unleashes one of its stranger characters for this animated series about an assassin who finds his soul trapped inside of a monkey. But the monkey has his own code that may just make him a better man. Stars Jason Sudeikis, Olivia Munn, George Takei, and Fred Tatasciore as Hit-Monkey. Coming to Hulu 11.17.2021.

After our first look, here’s another selection of beautiful and eye-popping footage from the upcoming Star Wars animated series. It features seven original stories as told through the eyes of some of Japan’s greatest anime studios. The series premieres on Disney+ on 9.22.2021, and we can’t wait to watch it.

Taking place immediately after the Clone War, this animated series follows the story of an elite squad of clones who possess special abilities. The formidable group of soldiers hire themselves out on dangerous missions, and draw the ire of the Empire. Premieres on Disney+ on 5.4.2021, with new episodes on Fridays.

Woody and his pals are spending time with little Bonnie these days, and the kid has decided to add a new toy to her collection – “Forky” (or is that “Sporky?”). But the plastic utensil is reluctant about his new role, and leads the toys on a wild new adventure.

(PG-13: Language) If Ari Gold represented video game characters instead of Hollywood big-shots, he might be something like the agent in Dorkly’s long-running animated series, which they’ve compiled into a single 11-minute-long clip for our enjoyment.

Miles Morales makes his way to the big screen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The computer animated film is based on the 2014 Spider-Verse comic books, where Spider-Men from different universes teamed up to stop a powerful villain. Premieres 12/25/18.

We’ve featured some great animations from Birdbox Studio, but their 2014 holiday card might be their crowning achievement – either it’s an awesome mechanized flipbook or an awesome bit of VFX trickery. Either way, it’s awesome.

Given how ridiculous TomSka’s offbeat asdfmovie animated series can be, we’re surprised any of it ever ended up on the cutting room floor. But here’s a few never-before-seen bits for us to SUDDENLY PINEAPPLES.

Gru and his minions encounter the Anti-Villain League in the follow up to the wildly popular and often hilarious original Despicable Me. We find it ironic that a family flick has its trailer backed by an Eminem track though.

Adam Butcher’s Internet Story is a rather chilling, well-written tale about a treasure hunt in Britain based on The Pardoner’s Tale that leads to a mysterious murder. (Thanks, James!)

In case you didn’t notice, this cool cat is quite different from the one in the fairy tale. He has different adventures, different friends and a different personality. But he is still a cat.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Stan Lee’s The Governator animated series will premiere in 2012; a comic book, 3D film and internet programming are also being considered. (Thanks Jonathan!)

Using a zoetrope, 3D software and a 3D printer, Eric Dyer tells a mesmerizing story about the cycle of creation and destruction in his loopy, candy-like short film The Bellows March. (Thanks Hillary!)

The talent behind the Confessions of a Disney Employee retells the great lengths he went to just to get a good grade in high school here. Kids: it may be amusing, but cheating is still no good.

There’s nothing to do but be amused here with Jason Steele’s goofy (and random) video about two really bored marshmallows, and the depths they will go to relieve their ennui. (Thanks Ryan!)

It’s not high-tech and fancy, but we highly recommend taking a minute and a half off from work to enjoy this charming animation by Peabo of Russian men cutting a rug. Fun. (Thanks Thomas!)

Antonio Banderas, Zach Galifianakis and Salma Hayek team up together for all kinds of hijinks, and to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs, in Chris Miller’s Puss In Boots. Out 11/2011.

Jesús Orellana’s richly animated ROSA is the story of a robot charged with recovering rare plant species to restore earth’s ecosystems, in a future megalopolis devoid of natural life. (Thanks Nate!)

The 3D animated Rio, with Anne Hathaway and George Lopez, is set in the city of Rio de Janeiro and the rainforests of Brazil and centers on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind.

Check out the dry Kiwi humor in Robert & Sheepy, two amusing claymation sheep from New Zealand that have a special point of view on life, created by Jemaine Clement and Guy Capper. (Thanks Tim!)

Gnomeo & Juliet, an animated version of the greatest love story ever told, stars the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as garden gnomes, who dodge feuding neighbors to find true love.
