“Kiss a pangolin French style, and it can tell you what you ate yesterday.” Totally amateur naturalist Zefrank1 schools us on more of natures stranger creations – Myrmecophagidae and various other critters who enjoy a delicious dinner of ants and termites.

Because not much is known about the map or its inhabitants, TierZoo found it impossible to come up with a ranking of deep sea creatures. They did, however, identify two traits that are of utmost importance to surviving this weird and unforgiving environment.

Bandai’s Neko Busou are domestic cat figures with mounted weapons. Bandai originally whipped them up as April Fools’ jokes, but now they’re giving cat lovers what they want. There are four simple blind-boxed figures and one cat that comes with all of the accessories.

“They are short, stocky, and scaleless, and often look like little pieces of garbage.” We haven’t heard from ZeFrank in eons, so we were thrilled to see he dropped a new nature video for us to enjoy. Here, he introduces us to some weird looking, camouflaging ambush predators.

PyroPet offers a waxy menagerie of beautifully crafted animal candles with a hidden surprise inside. Each low-poly candle has a burn time of approximately 20 hours, and is made of paraffin wax, cotton wick and aluminium. Great for creepy gifting (or keeping for yourself).

Eleanor Sizemore was minding her own business when she came across this plump and fluffy squirrel in a tree, and he was seriously going to town on a glazed donut. We like to think of this short video clip as the companion piece to Pizza Rat.

(Gore) Life-as-e-sports specialist TierZoo explains how mammals and dinosaurs came to be. In the wake of a near-server shutdown known as the Great Dying, two groups of land animals dominated. But one of them eventually came up with a great idea: standing up.

Artist and pastry chef Alexandre Dubosc’s delicious looking cake doubles as a zoetrope, so as it spins, it reveals animated scenes of various feline friends, including Felix the Cat, Maneki-neko, and Catbus. (Thanks Rachel!)

Birds can make some crazy noises, from mimicking sounds of their environment to singing repetitive patterns unique to their species. TED-Ed looks at the ways in which our fine feathered friends pick up their songs, and carry them on generation after generation.

Artist Cyril Bagnost presents a cool take on 3D acrylic illusion lamps, with whimsical low-poly designs cut precisely to the outline of the animal. The bulldog and panther are pretty sweet, but we also dig his Jeff Koons-inspired balloon dog. Lamps are powered via USB.

TierZoo kicks off its multi-part bird ranking with raptors, or birds of prey. Like many other predators, raptors rely on speed, power, or a combination of both. But the ones who made it on this list also have rare or unique abilities. Such as arson.

The laughing kookaburra bird lives up to its name with one of the most charming calls around. But Connor Margetts figured out that if he slows down the sound of his bird, Dacelo, that lighthearted call takes on a decidedly more evil tone.

Whether or not you loved The Last Jedi, you’ve got to hand it to the effects departments for their work on the film. While we assumed the Vulptex (aka “crystal foxes”) were CGI, it turns out they built an amazing animatronic puppet for close-ups, then scanned it for digital use.
