Awesome Adult Swim

The animated series Common Side Effects is a dark comedy about an activist digging into the pharmaceutical industry and how big corporations benefit from people being sick. With the creators of King of the Hill and half of the Scavengers Reign braintrust on board, we have high hopes for this one. Drops 2.2.25 on Adult Swim and 2.3.25 on Max.

(PG-13) “Those terrible sights we witnessed… were nothing more than the entrance to the spiral.” The anime adaptation of horror master Junji Ito’s masterpiece. Uzumaki is about a series of gruesome events in a Japanese town, which was afflicted by a curse that contorts places, objects, and people into spiral patterns. Premieres 9.28.24. on Adult Swim.

(PG-13: Language) “They want it nipped in the bud.” “They?…Oh, OK.” King of the Hill creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels present a new Adult Swim animated series. Common Side Effects is about an activist and a PR staff looking into a pharmaceutical conspiracy while a pair of goofball FBI agents are on their trail. Premieres 2025.

(PG-13: Gore) A thousand years from now, civilization has fallen, and chaos rules the wasteland. Fortunately, there’s one way out of the HOT FUTURE – epic dance moves. This bonkers 3-part animated series comes to us courtesy of Mike Anderson and Ryan Dickie for Adult Swim SMALLS.

(PG-13: Gore) Master Shake, Fry Lock, and Meatwad are back for an insane new adventure. In this clip from Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, the gang heads into space and comes face-to-face with a horrifying creature straight out of John Carpenter’s The Thing. The gang returs on 11.8.22 on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, and Blu-ray.

The Sanchez and Smith families are back for another round of insane adventures in the multiverse. Along the way, they’ll take on alien terrorists, Summer becomes Wolverine, Rick becomes Doc Ock, and the gang has car troubles. Oh, and in case you need a refresher before it premieres on September 4, watch this.

If you can believe it, September 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. To celebrate the occasion, here’s a compilation of the original promo segues that ran between shows on the late-night animation block. Soon enough, that’ll be us swimming with the old folks in the pool.

The fifth season of Rick and Morty just wrapped up with quite the ending. But how did we get here? Dan is a man on a mission to find his match while in space. After searching relationship sites, he finally managed to score a date. But it’s not what he had hoped for. There’s nothing like a peaceful autumn bike ride through the forest as colorful leaves fall around you. Illustrator Julian Glander’s lighthearted animated short for Adult Swim SMALLS starts out that way, then takes quite the unexpected turn about halfway through.

Could you use an extra kid in the house? Caleb and Kegan’s incredibly bizarre clip from Adult Swim SMALLS offers up the most peculiar digital baby since the dancing baby meme. We wonder if they used a 3D printer instead of a 2D one if things would have turned out better.

Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and its spin-off The Brak Show were two of our faves from the early days of Adult Swim. Saad Rahman (aka “Sad Ramen“) and April Son are fans too, and they created this eccentric follow up to the series in which the crew gets separated by space and time, leading to a web of intrigue and mystery.

“Now go out there, and be nobody!” Aqua Teen Hunger Force’s brash and insensitive neighbor Carl Brutananadilewski was invited by Adult Swim to give a commencement speech to the graduates of the Class of 2020. As expected, absolutely zero of his monologue is inspiring, sensible, or politically correct.

The boys are back in the multiverse. After a 6-month hiatus, Rick and Morty returns with the back half of its fourth season. Along the way, they wear unnecessarily badass suits and destroy countless aliens. Oh, and Snuffles (er, Snowball) returns to face a new enemy. The five new episodes kick off 5/3/2020 on Adult Swim.

In this short and silly animation, a man is sick and tired of the numerous scooters that have popped up around his city, and he voices his frustration by scooting away from all of it himself.
