(Flashing Images) Last Halloween, the Melodicka Bros. took The Cranberries’ 1994 track Zombie and reimagined it as a gloomy, synth-heavy track that could have easily have been a track on the Depeche Mode album Music for the Masses.

Artist Ross McSweeney created this beautiful work of moving sculpture, which uses a series of cams to create a wave-like action. A tiny boat rocks back and forth as a wooden ocean moves below, and fish dive in and out of the waves. We also love his caterpillar marble machine.

The nature photographers at John Downer Productions are known for infiltrating animal communities by packing cameras into lifelike robots. In this clip from Spy in the Wild 2, one of their robots crab-walked with thousands of real-life crustaceans and played a crab version of Frogger crossing the roads on Christmas Island.

Today, the Las Vegas Strip is an ever-changing landscape of mega-resorts. This footage from the Kino Library gives us a glimpse at the Strip as it appeared in 1975. While Caesars and the Flamingo live on, most other properties on display have since been bulldozed. Though you can still find their signs at The Neon Museum.

No one’s gonna take me alive. The talented musicians of Mariachi Entertainment System took on quite the challenge. With the help of a little tequila, they performed this awesomely unexpected cover of the Muse track Knights of Cydonia, which always felt like a post-modern soundtrack for a Spaghetti western.

These connect-the-dot puzzle books are much more challenging than most, with each design made from an average of 1,000 dots. The first book’s 30 images include the Statue of Liberty, an Egyptian Pharoah, and a Day of the Dead sugar skull. There’s also an Ultimate Dot-to-Dot Animals edition.
