Enjoyed
Björk’s Post was possibly (maybe) one of the best albums of the 1990s. A little while back, Stereogum got together some of today’s more adventurous artists to record a free downloadable tribute album.

Tucker, the schnoodle has a special talent. He can play the piano and sing at the same time. We didn’t say he was good at it. Then again, it’s no worse than watching the first few weeks of American Idol.
Music to your ears? Tiago Della Vega held the former world record for fast playing of the guitar at 320 beats per minute, but now has broken his prior record by playing at speeds up to 750 BPM.
Time for your midday zen moment: Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, arranged for four violins and performed by Joe Edmonds. Quite beautiful, and also good for karaoke practice. (Thanks Martyn!)
(Language NSFW) The video for Kanye West’s single Monster leaked just recently, but it’s already been parodied. Watch Kermy West, Faw-Z, Rizz Rat, Von Count and Piggy Minaj do their thing.
Ellen Hinton does a sweet mash up of Train’s Hey Soul Sister and Yael Naim’s New Soul, using mostly iPad and iPhone apps – even for shooting the video itself. Apple could easily use this as an ad.
Sit back and enjoy this performance of Scott Joplin’s ragtime classic, played entirely on bottles by the aptly named St. Luke’s Bottle Band. When you’re done, enjoy some Beethoven.
The NY Times put together this musical montage as a tribute to the many talented recording artists we lost in 2010. You may not recognize every name or face, but most of the music will jog your memory.
Conspiracy theorists, here’s one for you. Is it possible that Kurt Cobain never died, went through a body transplant and is now living in Novosibirsk, Russia? Looks like Courtney dyed her hair too.
While the music from a variety of artists plays on mashupbreakdown.com, the website gives a visual representation of which samples are currently playing and when they overlap. (Thanks Matt!)
Damon Albarn and friends composed this 15-track album using an iPad between shows on their recent tour. Fan club members can download the entire album free, while the rest of us can stream it now.
(NSFW: Language) The three kings of bangin’ literal music are back, and they want to share to the world that they’re happy. Not because they got to work with Akon, but because they just had the sex.
Filled with tradition, this time of year just wouldn’t feel right without watching Snoopy, Die Hard, A Christmas Story and the latest addition to TA’s holiday program list: Christmas Carols with GWAR.
Okay Samurai covers hit pop songs with a twist, rephrasing them in the most verbose way possible, as if the songwriters had a word count quota. His cover of Cee-Lo’s hit song is procreatin’ hilarious.
Poor parrot. He’s in a dark room, with no sunlight and no companions. Perhaps that’s why he’s gained a bitter streak. Or maybe he was banished because of his taste in music. Watch and listen.
When he’s not fighting crime or yelling at the lighting crew, Christian Bale busts out a mad rendition of the Powerpuff Girls theme. Bonus points for Mark Wahlberg’s Dirk Diggler tribute.
After all the rounds of Rock Band, we’re already used to playing guitars without strings. The touchscreen Kitara is a string-free performance instrument. Doubles as a MIDI controller.
Y’all need to grab your kids, grab your wives, and grab your husbands too ’cause they singing bangin’ carols out there. Liberty University’s Vision Ministries do a holiday version of the famous song.
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly channel the classic David Bowie/Bing Crosby Christmas collaboration with astounding accuracy (and a touch of humor). Who knew these guys could sing this well?
Audio junkies may recall Tascam’s retro Porta One mobile studio. The 4-track recorder has a new life as an iPad app, aping the looks of the original, substituting digital audio for cassette tapes.
While we featured Daft Punk’s TRON:Legacy track before, we now have the official music video, and it’s the most perfect thing you could imagine – if you dream about Daft Punk and TRON, that is.
Scott Stutzman found out that Fruity Pebbles didn’t have a jingle, so he decided to make one. It’s catchy and sufficiently absurd, but Scott… Fruity Pebbles is made by Post, not Kellogg’s.
