Back in 1994, Battlefield developer DICE started work on this side-scrolling shooter back for the Sega Genesis and Commodore Amiga. The 16-bit game known as “Hardcore” was shelved for more than two decades, and has been given new life on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch thanks to Strictly Limited Games.

Folks who love the games on the Nintendo Switch, but who never play on their TV set will want to check out the new Switch Lite, which plays all the games that support handheld mode, but is strictly a portable. Its controls are built in, and the motion and camera abilities are gone. Drops 9/20/19.

Everyone’s other favorite Italian plumber is back to dustbust more ghosts in this game for Nintendo Switch. Luigi gets a few new tricks like the ability to switch from suck to blow, an alter-ego named “Gooigi,” and online and local co-op gameplay with 2 to 8 players. Drops late 2019.

(Gore) Director Ansel Wallenfang’s awesome music video for metal band Red Fang’s track Antidote looks like a level from a 16-bit video game, is packed with retro gaming tropes, and culminates with one of the greatest boss fights of all time. We so want to play that van beatdown level.

Minecraft meets Diablo in Mojang’s upcoming action RPG, Minecraft Dungeons. Set in the pixelated Minecraft universe, the game features procedurally generated levels, and online and local co-op for up to four players. Drops Spring 2020 for consoles and Windows.

Video game nerds, sit back, relax, and enjoy Dave Freeman’s hour-long commercial break featuring dozens of TV ads for classic games from Pac-Man to Space Invaders from the Atari 2600 to the Intellivision. The Toys ‘R’ Us music almost made us cry.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an action adventure game that takes place across all nine Star Wars films, modified of course with more whimsy and humor. You’ll be able to jump to any movie setting and progress as you wish. Coming to consoles and Windows in 2020.

This lengthy gameplay video of the upcoming Nintendo Switch tactical RPG Fire Emblem: Three Houses showcases some of the game’s numerous activities and characters. It also demonstrates a few of the new combat mechanics and features. The game drops 7/26/19.

The Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is even more comfortable, durable and customizable than its predecessor. It has a profile switch button, the option to program a button to act as a Shift key to map more commands, and an internal battery that lasts up to 40h per charge.

Square Enix has shared a lot of details about Final Fantasy VII: Remake. It will be split into multiple games, the first of which drops 03/03/20. The game will feature a mix of hack-and-slash and tactical combat, and appears to expand the story of the original.

(PG-13: Language) Video game enthusiast and critic Dunkey offers up his take on the announcements that came out of E3 2019. From Sony’s no-show stance, to the ability to play as any random NPC in Watch Dogs: Legion, to Keanu stealing the show in Cyberpunk 2077, he’s got all the notable moments covered.

We’ve seen a number of tiny arcade machines, but what we really want someone to produce is a teensy digital pinball machine like this one from maker Matt “Circuitbeard” Brailsford. It uses a tiny Windows 10 computer called the LattePanda and runs Visual Pinball on its dual LCD screens. Build details here.

Microsoft is bringing Xbox One and Xbox 360 games to Windows 10 computers with Xbox Game Pass for PC. Enjoy unlimited access to a growing library of games – including Forza Horizon 4 and the upcoming Gears 5 – for just $5 a month. There’s also a $15 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate that covers both PCs and the Xbox One.

While we’re not sure the trailer for this upcoming co-op action RPG really explains the story at all, it does show off some insanely-great and creepy looking monsters you’ll be facing should you decide to buy this upcoming title when hits PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on 8/20/19.
