This LEGO construction by The Quinten is the most charming and adorable thing we’ve seen this week. The mechanical build features a beehive structure with some googly-eyed bees buzzing around as its crank is turned. The project is currently seeking support on LEGO Ideas, and we’d love to see it put into production.

Magician and video illusionist Zach King shows off a variety of fun optical tricks with furniture that isn’t ever quite what it seems. Unlike some of Zach’s other videos, the effects are all done in camera, using some truly unusual props.

A few years ago, Oru created a kayak that could fold up like origami. Their latest design is the smallest yet, packing up into a suitcase that’s small enough to fit just about anywhere. Somehow they managed to fold a 10-foot boat down to just 42″ L x 19″ H x 10″ W. An optional pack lets you carry it and your paddle on your back.

To celebrate five years since its launch, Chicago designer Craighton Berman is back with a new run of his sculptural, yet practical object for your morning pourover. Each one is made from borosilicate glass, and this time comes with a white, black, or stoneware ceramic baseplate.

Artist JF Lemay is a master at creating awesomely creepy and twisted black and white illustrations. In addition to his still images, his instagram is filled with cool video clips, like this multilayered human, complete with skin, bones, organs, and a special surprise inside.

Steve Guinness‘ concept for a typewriter made entirely from LEGO not only looks awesome, but it’s now achieved the 10,000 votes required to consider it for production. The design features a working mechanism, driven by a hand crank. Here’s hoping LEGO decides to make it.

By using a similar mechanism to the ones used in 3D printers, maker Josh Sheldon created an amazing robotic rig which can be used to guide a light source along a precise path. The result are some of the most beautifully smooth long-exposure light paintings we’ve ever seen.
