Transferring technology and expertise from the road to the water, BMW is the driving force behind The Icon, the first maritime luxury electric vehicle. BMW teamed up with boat builder TYDE to create a visionary experience that progressively blends the ideals of luxury and sustainable mobility. In other words, it’s a glass-encased plaything for the one-percenters.

With sweeping vistas from the interior space, the sleek boat looks more like a floating living room than a speedboat. BMW won’t say what its top speed is, only that it takes 10-12 seconds from startup to hovering about one meter above the water. Two propellers on the rear foil provide propulsion.BMW The Icon Electric Watercraft

The Icon is electrified by BMW batteries alone. A stabilizing fin and two wings act like underwater wings, allowing the watercraft to hover over the water. BMW boasts that it suffers no motion from waves and the ride is as comfortable as gliding in the rear of the BMW i7. BMW The Icon Electric Watercraft

This water baby has an electric power range of 488 to 560 km (303 to 348 miles). But until there are charging stations at sea, this one’s mainly for Netflix chillin’ and showing off in lakes, bays and yacht club marinas.BMW The Icon Electric Watercraft
