Saarland University researcher Marc Teyssier created the creepiest webcam we’ve ever seen. The Eyecam uses six servo motors to realistically replicate the movements of a human eyeball, eyelids, and eyebrow, staring down its subject and making sure they are paying attention during Zoom calls.

Solaborate’s Hello 2 is a webcam that shines when plugged into a TV. It has a 4K HDR camera that can automatically tilt and pan, as well as four powerful microphones. It has lots of communication apps built-in, and supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The Razer Kiyo is a great entry-level webcam for anyone who wants to get into streaming or vlogging. It has a built-in multi-step LED ring light to ensure that your face is well-lit. It streams video at 720p/60fps and 1080p/30fps.

The Moon camera has a base that allows for magnetic levitation and wireless charging. But it’s more than a floating eye. It can rotate itself towards a source of sound, and act as a home automation controller. It even has an IR blaster to control older appliances.

Logitech builds upon their first 1080p webcam with the C920, which is capable of streaming 1080p video calls using Skype. Also supports up to 720p streaming on Windows Live Messenger.

We’ve seen a million-and-one webcams, but Logitech’s C910 is the first we’ve found that can capture full 1080p high-def video. Video chats are still 720p, but the recordings go to 1920×1080.

Microsoft updates its LifeCam line with a trio of 720p HD AF webcams; the HD-5000 and 5001 are designed for the desktop, while the HD-6000 adds 360° rotation for notebooks.

Logitech’s Webcam Pro 9000 gets a significant update: it can now record in 16:9 720p HD video thanks to a 2 MP sensor (good for 8 MP still shots) and Zeiss optics with autofocus.
