Awesome Unnecessary Inventions

With robots building cars, we’re already at the point where machines are making machines. Matty from Unnecessary Inventions uses 3D printers for many of his projects, and thought it was time he used the machines to print the parts for another. With the help of the Fraxinus project, he shows how he used his store-bought printers to birth to a baby.

With so many companies making people return to their offices, Matty from Unnecessary Inventions figured they could use something to make things more entertaining. So he got to work rigging up a couple of desk chairs on a beam so two people can pretend they’re on a playground. But his version of the see-saw is better than most because it also spins.

Most of the things that Matty from Unnecessary Inventions creates live up to the channel’s name. But once in a while, he comes up with something that could actually improve lives. Case in point – this wearable vacuum that sucks up Cheesy Poofs and other snack foods so you can eat them without getting your hands dirty.

This punching bag clamps to your desktop and lets you get your aggression out with your fists and words. Just put all of your credit cards into this roulette wheel, give it a spin, and let it randomly choose who will get stuck with the bill. After Matty Benedetto got his hands on a large-bed Creality 3D printer, he wanted to create something that could only be made on such a device. His plan? Create a life-size sculpture of himself that greets visitors when they come to his studio. It took a lot of time and filament to produce his plastic avatar, but the result was worth it.

Matty Benedetto of Unnecessary Inventions loves IKEA and hopes to collaborate with them someday. After the Swedish home furnishings company reached out to him, he thought it would be fun to design, prototype, and produce an office chair with a built-in pegboard so he could readily access hand tools while wheeling around his studio.
