Do you like the artful, monochrome look of engravings like the illustrated portraits on currency? Texturelabs shows us how to achieve that exact look by creating a custom wavy texture, using the Oil Paint filter, and a few other tricks inside of Adobe Photoshop.

Slovakian company KoolForm shows off its texturing system, which can emboss realistic textures on walls. The process starts out with a layer of concrete, rolling or stamping a pattern, then painting to bring out details. The embossing tools come in wood, brick, and stone textures.

The block-building game Minecraft is known for its incredibly rudimentary object textures. But game modder hodiltoN decided the game was due for an upgrade, and created a series of realistic textures for the game, which look especially nice when lit with using the SEUS PTGI shaders.
