Awesome Slacklining

Jaan Roose is one of the world’s best slackliners. On August 8, 2022, he showed off his incredible balance – and balls of steel – by slacklining between two buildings and across Rotterdam’s river Mass. The 2cm (.78″) wide slackline measured nearly 500 feet long, with a 24% grade at its steepest angle.

Stephen Robinson of 52 Skillz met up with experts to help learn two new abilities – slacklining and yo-yo tricks. The resulting video is a great bit of storytelling, and will immediately be relatable to anyone who has ever been frustrated by learning a new skill.

On 11/15/15, Théo Sanson walked 1640ft (500m) across a slackline strung precariously between Castle Valley, Utah’s Rectory and Castleton Tower. Camp 4 Collective recorded the death-defying feat. How do you even set that up?

Spencer Seabrooke set a new record for slacklining without any leash (or any balancing or safety equipment for that matter). He walked across a ~210ft. gap from ~950ft. high. Zachary Moxley recorded the feat with his drone.

Andrew Lewis breaks the World Record for “most side-surfs on a slackline in one minute”, seemingly defying physics as he bounces back and forth 143 times before (safely) falling from the line.
