Awesome Red Side

Since the earlist motorized vehicles, people have been trying to break land speed records. RED SIDE put together this fun and informative animated video that compares the speed of earliest world record-setting cars to the latest. It’s interesting to note that the 19th century record breakers were, surprisingly enough, electric cars.

It takes a fair amount of fuel to get an airplane off the runway and keep it moving forward in the sky. This animated infographic from Vani Plaku’s RED SIDE provides a comparison of how much aviation fuel or electric power is required based on the size, weight, and speed of various aircraft. It’s incredible just how much fuel a modern jet consumes every minute.

We’re pretty comfortable driving on a race track at speeds around 130 to 140 mph. Anything more than that, and we start to get a little squirrely. Speaking of speed, Red Side put together this fun 3D animation that compares the speeds of various vehicles, from bumper cars to rocket cars and everything in between.

Recently, Red Side created an animation comparing the speeds of vehicles and other fast-moving objects. This new video switches up the perspective, letting us see how quickly they move from a first- or third-person view. While we love to go fast, a lazy cruise in that Apollo lunar rover looks like a nice way to spend the day.

When it comes to missiles, there are three critical factors: range, speed, and accuracy. RED SIDE’s latest comparison video simulates various kinds of missiles to see which ones are the slowest and fastest to reach their target. The video starts with a drag race, followed by a launch-stage-flyby sequence, a range demonstration, and finally, a size comparison.

Red Side has compared the speeds of aircraft, spaceships, and other vehicles; now they’re back to show the differences in flying speeds of birds – or, in the case of penguins, chickens, and kiwis, how fast they can walk or run. Who here knew a seagull was faster than Usain Bolt?
