With features like a 16M color 3.3″ AMOLED touchscreen, TV-out, 64 hours of music playback and a micro SD card slot, we’re waiting happily and patiently for the slick new J3 PMP from Cowon.
If you get giddy over dynos and exhaust temps, the iQ is a 5″ touchscreen dash PC that taps directly into your car’s vitals; it not only monitors performance but doubles as a media player.
Originally previewed here, the Archos 5 Internet Tablet is official: it runs Android and features a 5″ touchscreen, 720p HD playback, Wi-Fi (n), BT 2.0, GPS and up to 32 GB storage.
iPod Touch it is not, but Creative’s ZEN X-Fi2 is no slouch: it packs a 3″ touchscreen, 8-32 GB memory, TV-out, multiple audio/video formats, speakers, mic, FM radio and SD card.
Microsoft’s Zune HD is available for preorder at multiple stores including Microsoft and Amazon; it launches on 9/16/09 with 16/32 GB flavors, a 3.3″ multi-touch OLED screen and Wi-Fi.
The Zii EGG Plaszma is a wish list come true: 3.5″, 10-point capacitive multi-touch screen, two cameras (one front-facing), 32 GB storage, Flash Lite, Wi-Fi, GPS and 1080p output.
Do judge a PMP by its cover: Cowon’s S9 White Edition keeps the same 3.3″ AMOLED touchscreen, Bluetooth and Flash support as the original 2008 edition, albeit with a white colorway.
Designed for police and first responders, TASER’s AXON is a three piece system with a HeadCam, Com Hub and Linux-powered 4.3″ touchscreen ATC that can playback videos.
It looks to be Korea-only, but we like the iRiver P35 PMP’s minimalist design; it sports their SPINN wheel, good audio/video codecs, Wi-Fi, portrait/landscape modes and a 4.3″ display.
It’s not the most groundbreaking PMP, but Samsung’s YP-Q2 gives a good 50 hours of playback in a slick case; a 2.4″ screen, mic, up to 16GB of storage, and FM radio round it out.
An update to Samsung’s Q1 Ultra, the Q1EX UMPC drops the keyboard entirely for a 7″ LCD touchscreen; it’ll run XP with a 1.2GHz VIA Nano CPU, 2GB RAM and a 60GB HDD.
iRiver has released a slew of new pics for their horizontally-oriented P7; the all-aluminum PMP will sport a 4.3″ TFT display with a built-in speaker and storage via microSD card.
With a chin like the G1 and a spinner like the iriver Spinn, MyRacer’s lisse T10 may be a copycat but it’s still slick; it features a 2.8″ touchscreen, FM tuner, and 2 or 4GB of storage.
Available starting March 2009, iLuv’s i1166 portable media player is jam-packed with goodies; it not only plays DVDs at 16:9 on its 9″ TFT LCD, but unfolds to serve as an iPod dock.
Viliv’s X70 Atom MID is a lighter, non-swiveling version of the S7 with the same 7″ touch screen, but swaps one option for another: no 1.86GHz, but buyers can choose Linux or XP.
OQO’s Model 2+ is official; similar in shape to the outgoing Model 02, the 2+ gets a bright new OLED touchscreen display, Intel Atom CPU, 2 GB RAM and 3G speeds via Gobi.
Although details are light, we’re excited by the Oppo Muse G11; it’s a portable game emulator with an SNES-like d-pad, PlayStation buttons and a 3.2″ swiveling touchscreen.
Our favorite PMP with the spinning doohickey, the iRiver Spinn, is finally available for sale in 4 GB and 8 GB varieties; you’ll get a 16:19 OLED touchscreen and FM tuner come 10/3.
