Awesome Native American

Rumpl teamed up with textile artist Maggie Thompson to create this eye-catching Original Puffy Blanket. The interleaved blocks of color were inspired by the artist’s Ojibwe heritage. Like other Rumpl’s, the blanket repels water, has corner loops for staking, and a clip so you can wear it as a cape. Also available as a beach towel.

If you’re unfamiliar with the richly-layered sounds of traditional Native American pow wow singing, you’ll want to check out this footage of Antoine Edwards and a trio of talented vocalists as they perform a song in the traditional chanted style, but with lyrics in English.

Filmmakers Tim Sessler and Wanbli Omani created this powerful short film that starkly contrasts the purity of Native American life with the environmental burdens of urbanization. The title pays respect to the Lakota people’s sacred way of life that incorporates peace, harmony, and respect between humans and all life.
