Mountain bike athlete Jono Jones and his pal Olly Wilkins followed Mountain Bike Nomad along one of the craziest trails we’ve ever seen. Donning headlamps for illumination, the trio took their bikes through the dark and narrow passageways of an abandoned Slovenian lead mine. Jono says this was just a short section of the ride.

Placing a one-way mirror in front of a regular mirror can create an infinite reflection illusion. It’s typically used to make glitzy disco-style lighting, but in this video from Wiz’s Woodwork, he shows us how to use the effect to make it look like his coffee table leads down a very long mine shaft.

What’s worse than the claustrophobic feeling of walking down an old mine shaft? How about adding a human-sized spider lurking beneath a trap door? Boylei Hobby Time created this imaginative diorama of a couple of miners who don’t know what dangers await them. This wasn’t the first time he went mining for giant arachnids.

This vintage newsreel footage provides a fascinating glimpse into the dangerous process that WWII soldiers faced when disarming mines. Watch as these brave Royal Navy servicemen approached and disassembled a German “murder” mine that washed up on the East coast of Britain.
