We recently saw a tiny steam engine that could fit atop a pencil eraser. That was small, but this video from MetaBallStudios shows some objects that are much, much smaller, including machines, computer circuits, and structural materials. The engineered items are impressive, but it’s those handmade sculptures that really blew our minds.

Imagine what it might be like if a bunch of monsters came to town and started stomping around. MetaBall Studios takes to the streets with their latest size comparison video, giving us a sense of scale as various fictional monsters invade Earth and wreak havoc on the place. Once they start getting 30 feet tall or more, they can’t help but destroy the place.

MetaBallStudios offers a fun take on size comparison videos. By putting viewers in the body of a virtual human, we get to see how mechs might look roaming around Earth. They start with Emmet’s diminutive Constructo-o-Mech from The LEGO Movie and work their way up to the massive, city-stomping Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann.

MetaBallStudios is usually comparing the sizes of things, but in this wild video, they created a CG simulation of what might happen if the moon took aim at Earth, affected its gravity, and eventually collided with it. The destruction isn’t based on scientifically-accurate calculations, but it sure looks terrifying.

In 1971, the 1,250 foot-tall Empire State Building was the tallest building on Earth. Today, the Burj Khalifa, is more than twice that height, at 2,717 feet. MetaBallStudios offers up a visual comparison of the tallest skyscrapers along with some planned and conceptual future projects which could tower over the Burj.
