How It’s Made presents a creepy compilation of factory videos showing how we get mannequins, marionnettes, crash test dummies, dress forms, and other humanoid replicas. We can only imagine walking through one of these factories at night must be like the Cold Storage facility in Westworld.

Advancements in voice recognition, large language models, neural networks, and robotics come together in this impressive demonstration. An unnamed human asks the Figure 01 robot to recognize objects, perform tasks, and explain its reasoning. While it takes a moment for the AI to compute its responses, it’s a glimpse of things to come. (Thanks, Myriam!)

A while back, we checked out Engineered Arts’ expressive humanoid robot Ameca. In this short video, the recently upgraded bot takes a look at herself in the mirror and seems quite happy with her new capabilities. It makes us wonder if someday a robot will look in a mirror and question their reality.
