Awesome Goodwood

The climb to the top of the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world’s most famous time trials. At the 2022 hill climb, a tiny experimental EV called the McMurtry Spéirling set a record of 39.08 seconds, in part due to the car’s innovative design, which uses fans to generate massive amounts of downforce.

One of the most iconic attractions of the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed is its hillclimb event. It’s typically jampacked with powerful sports cars gunning for their best speed. But for 2019, stunt driver Terry Grant did something a little different, deftly balancing a Jaguar F-Type R Coupe on two wheels for the entire 1.16 mile course.

The 2020 Toyota GR Supra is pretty sweet car in its own right, and Toyota is really encouraging tuners to make it their own. Check out this awesome shakedown footage of a completely reworked Supra Drift car made by HKS as it gets ready for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It even packs a classic 2JZ engine.

Much of the year, Goodwood is a idyllic and luxurious UK Estate. But once a year, it’s transformed into the home of one of the greatest car shows in the world. While it’s best known for its Hillclimb event, these drivers want to get us excited about this year’s new drifting circuit.

A wonderful bit of footage from the 2018 Goodwood Revival in which an army of little kids run across the track like Le Mans racers used to do, quickly hop in their tiny cars, then pedal their way maniacally down the race track. Our legs hurt just watching this.

Not only did stunt driver Terry Grant do the famous UK hillclimb with two wheels off the ground, he broke the Guinness Record for fastest mile in a car on two wheels, coming in at 2m 10s in the GT-R powered Nissan Juke RS Nismo.
