Awesome Gamecube

The Nintendo Gamecube hasn’t been produced since 2007, but it still can play some pretty great games. Maker and modder Peter Knetter took it upon himself to design and build a LEGO Gamecube. After sifting through a sea of blue building blocks, he filled the case with the console’s guts and built a matching LEGO controller.

A guy can’t find the remote for his TV, but while he searches between the couch cushions, he stumbles onto the controller for his old Nintendo GameCube. However, when he plugs it in, it works just a little differently than we remember in Guaranteed Video’s silly sketch.

Shank Mods made an impressive portable handheld console using the brains of a Nintendo Wii. This allows the PiiWii to play any Wii and GameCube game. It also works with Virtual Console, WiiWare and Homebrew apps. Games are loaded on a microSD card.

Is the whole of two memes put together greater than the sum of their parts? You be the judge with this mashup of the iconic startup screen of the Nintendo Gamecube and A-ha’s hit track Take on Me, smooshed together by Fuou Marinas for no particular reason.

With “classic edition” retro consoles becoming more commonplace, maker and hardcore Nintendo fan Nintendrew tried his hand at building a GameCube mini console. His version ended up being quite expensive, but a mass-produced version could be much cheaper.
