Awesome Coolio

Musician Bob Strachan has the uncanny ability to sound just like Johnny Cash. But he doesn’t just use his talents to cover Johnny’s songs. In this case, he took Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise and turned it into a moody country song along the lines of Folsom Prison Blues.

DJ Cummerbund is at it again, making musical remixes that should make no sense yet work brilliantly. This time, he took Paul Simon’s Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard and replaced Julio with Coolio. Funny enough, Simon’s original music video starts with a rap by Big Daddy Kane and Biz Markie.

Because absolutely nobody asked for it, here is a music video of SpongeBob SquarePants singing a cover of Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise. Apparently, Negan Jeffrey used an AI-based vocal synthesizer to make SpongeBob sing the words to the 1995 hit track.

Franzoli Electronics fires up their tesla coils once more with a high-voltage performance of Coolio and L.V.’s Gangsta’s Paradise. The track sounds awesome as it buzzes through the man-made lightning, reminding us not to mess with West Coast rappers unless you’re in a Faraday cage.

“I’m a jellyfishing king… a cleaning-product thing.” With the help of the deep-learning text-to-speech tool 15.ai, Drew K created a new take on Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise, with Spongebob Squarepants rapping the lyrics, which have been changed to better reflect life in Bikini Bottom.

maromaro1337 is always making great covers of popular tunes using Stylophones as their instrument of choice. The simple analog synthesizers lend themselves well to a surprisingly wide variety of genres, and we really enjoyed this performance of Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise – especially the Stylophone choir at the end.

For 2020, a toned-down version of the annual Oktoberfest celebration has kicked off in Germany. To celebrate, There I Ruined It recorded a new version of Coolio and L.V.’s Gangsta’s Paradise, with a fresh new oompah band sound.

Vocalist Robyn Adele Anderson and Postmodern Jukebox crank out a jazzy rendition of Coolio’s classic Gangsta’s Paradise, set in the heart of the prohibition era. We kept expecting Nucky Thompson to make an appearance.
