Awesome Circus

Art of Play’s fanciful playing cards celebrate a classic sideshow pastime – the flea circus. The miniature cards feature illustrations by artist Jeff Trish, with 54 fleas showing off their unique talents under a pint-sized big top. Acts include a snake charmer flea, a cannonball flea, and a light bulb-eating flea. The teensy cards measure 2.75″ x 1.75″.

For the opening ceremonies of the 20th Letní Letná festival in Prague, 32 acrobats performed while hanging from a spinning truss suspended by a crane. Artists duo.extend were part of this display from Cirkus Cirkor’s Aquanauts, an amazing show that brings together acrobats, aerialists, and synchronized swimmers in a show combining water, air, and fire.

A while back, we saw a video of three people jumping through the same hula hoop. This trio of gymnasts from Hoops Désolé Circus has a different take on the idea. One guy holds the hoop, then they each jump through it in sequence. Here’s the same routine at full speed. Only the last little bit is an effect.
