Awesome April Fools

The internet is packed with April Fools Day pranks today, and this is one of our favorites. Lexus put together this hilarious commercial for a fictitious and fragrant feature for their new GX 550 SUV – a “Scent Mode” that helps you connect with nature even when you’re stuck in city traffic.

One of ThinkGeek’s April Fools jokes. This clock features a very accurate replica of the sun from one of the planets that Rick and the Smiths visited in Rick and Morty. When the alarm goes off, the sun comes up and then screams nonstop for 42 hours.

If Lexus’ latest automotive autonomy feature sounds too good to be true, that’s because it’s way too close to April Fools Day for us to buy it. Still, the idea that you could force annoying drivers to move out of your way remotely should come standard on all modern vehicles.

While Google wowed us with Cardboard Plastic earlier today, their best April Fools prank might just be this one out of Google Nederland – a play on their autonomous car tech, but made for the bicycle-filled streets of Amsterdam.

The Price is Right surprised viewers and the audience with an awesome April Fools gift. Original host Bob Barker – who turns 92 this year – dropped by and ran the show for the lucky first batch of contestants.

ThinkGeek grabbed a low-hanging fruit for one of its April Fools’ jokes, conceptualizing a Steam Machine that actually runs on steam. All you need is coal and water. The steampunk controller looks sweet.

Google Japan’s April Fools Day prank comes in the form of a new sort of input device that purports to convert your breath into Japanese language keystrokes. It also makes for a great party favor.
